Albums achieve their positions on the weekly Billboard & Rolling Stone lists based on total units sold; a metric which is the sum of of pure album sales (sales of the entire actual album), streaming-equivalent album units (SEA), and track-equivalent album units (TEA). One SEA unit is equal to 1,250 premium (paid) streams, or 3,750 free streams, and one TEA unit is equal to 10 purchased tracks. There are three charts below: the first one has the top 10 albums based on total weekly units sold according to both Billboard and Rolling Stone. The two sites have different sources of data, hence why their numbers are different (but close). A second chart includes the top 10 albums of the week according to Billboard based on pure album sales, and the third chart includes the top 25 albums of the week, according to Alpha Data, with breakdowns of pure albums, SEA units, and TEA units.
Morgan Wallen's 'Dangerous: The Double Album' spends a seventh week atop the album sales chart selling around 89,000 album-equivalent units, according to Billboard, in the tracking week ending February 25, 2021. That total includes 7,000 pure albums which ranked third on the week in that metric. Ariana Grande's 'Positions' jumped to second-place this week with 49,000 units due the release of the Deluxe version of the album on Feb. 19 which featured five additional songs. Pop Smoke's 'Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon' and Lil Durk's 'The Voice' switched spots with the former rising to 3rd this week (43,000) and the latter in fourth (38,000). Also of note, BTS's 'BE' re-entered the top 10 this week (36,000 units) due to its re-issue on Feb. 19; of that sum, 28,000 were pure albums which ranked atop that metric. Outside of the Billboard top 10 was Taylor Swift's 'Evermore' (24,000) & 'Folklore' (20,000), Megan Thee Stallion's 'Good News' (23,600), Doja Cat's 'Hot Pink' (20,100), and Harry Styles's 'Fine Line' (18,800).
