TV Ratings: Saturday June 27, 2020

With no original programs airing on the broadcast nets, the Saturday TV ratings were a cable affair. The day was led by ESPN's 'UFC Fight Night' which found a 0.43 adults 18-49 rating and 1.07 million total viewers. It also led among men 18-49 (0.62), adults 18-34 (0.33), and males 12-34 (0.33). Interestingly, it also led in females 12-34 (0.20) though that was mostly due to the fact that there was no serious competition in that demo.

In scripted content, Adult Swim had a new episode of 'My Hero Academia' (0.22, 499,000) which scored strong numbers among males 12-34 (0.26) and adults 18-34 (0.21). Elsewhere, Nickelodeon had solid returns with 'Young Dylan' (0.11, 488,000) and 'Group Chat' (0.07, 313,000). The former show notched 0.17 in F12-34 - the closest competition to 'UFC' in that demo.

TV Ratings: Friday June 26, 2020

FOX's 'WWE Smackdown' led the Friday broadcast ratings, notching a 0.53 adults 18-49 rating and 2.17 million viewers; it also led the day among adults 18-34 with a 0.3. CBS aired the 'Daytime Emmy Awards' (0.29, 3.02 million) and the CW had 'Masters of Illusion' (0.10, 765,000). NBC and ABC were both all reruns.

On cable, CNN's 'Anderson Cooper 360' and 'Cuomo Primetime' both tied for the top 18-49 rating on the day (0.28), and were at 0.38/0.39 ratings in 25-54 and 1.69 million/1.83 million viewers. At 10pm, 'CNN Tonight' was a bit behind at 0.23 in 18-49, 0.32 in 25-54, and 1.26 million viewers.

TV Ratings: Thursday June 25, 2020

On the busiest night of the week in the summer, ABC's 'Holey Moley' (0.69 in 18-49, 3.88 million) and 'Don't' (0.69, 3.42 million) took victory in the 18-49s; 'To Tell the Truth' (0.60, 3.43 million) was close behind. All three shows tied in 18-34 at 0.3, and the former two were at 1.0 in 25-54. CBS brought in OK numbers with 'Broke' (0.47, 3.68 million) as did NBC with 'Council of Dads' (0.36, 2.94 million) and 'Blindspot' (0.30, 1.86 million). Interestingly, FOX is still finding decent numbers with 'Celebrity Watch Party' (0.36, 1.4 million), but 'Labor of Love' (0.22, 884,000) was still low. Finally, the CW had 'Burden of Truth' (0.10, 554,000) and 'In the Dark' (0.09, 448,000).

TV Ratings: Wednesday June 24, 2020

On another slow Wednesday night on broadcast, FOX's 'Ultimate Tag' took victory in the demo (0.46 rating) but only managed 1.5 million viewers - way behind a rerun of 'Chicago PD' which led the day in viewers (3.66 million). CBS's 'Game On!' (0.44, 2.94 million) ranked second in the demo, but tied with 'Tag' for the lead in 18-34 (0.3). Elsewhere, ABC's 'Marvel's Agents of SHIELD' was at a dismal 0.23 in the demo with 1.37 million viewers and the CW's two programs, 'The 100' (0.13, 567,000) and 'Bulletproof' (0.07, 319,000) were dead.

TV Ratings: Tuesday June 23, 2020

NBC's 'America's Got Talent' took victory on both broadcast & cable Tuesday, scoring a 1.28 adults 18-49 rating with 8.72 million viewers. Lead-out 'World of Dance' (0.78, 4.1 million) kept its usual pattern, down 5-rounded-tenths in the demo and more than 50% in total viewers. On ABC, 'The Genetic Detective' (0.31, 2.28 million) was fractional and was out-rated by a rerun of 'The Connors' (0.40, 2.55 million). Finally, the CW had 'Stargirl' (0.21, 921,000) and 'Happy Hour' (0.07, 460,000).

On the cable side, Fox News's 'Tucker Carlson Tonight' led the day in 18-49 (0.41 rating), 25-54 (0.67), and total viewers (4.26 million). 'Hannity' (0.39/0.63, 4.18 million) was next, and then 'The Ingraham Angle' (0.35/0.56, 3.71 million).

UPDATED 2021: Showtime's 'Shameless' premiered January 9, 2011 to an OK 0.4 adults 18-49 rating with 982,000 viewers and it hovered around 1 million viewers throughout its first season, averaging 1.03 million viewers. The show exploded in the next few seasons, hitting a high of 1.1 in the demo with 2 million viewers for its third season premiere in 2013 and averaging 0.82 with 1.71 million viewers in its fourth season (2014). The next four seasons all hovered around 1.5 million viewers on average but demo scores were less consistent, notching between 0.42 and 0.88 save for a New Year's Eve episode which dropped to 0.23 (and 805,000). A ninth season premiered in the fall of 2018 and took a hard fall, down to 0.36 in the demo and 1.04 million viewers - on par with what its first season was getting. Its tenth season, in the fall of 2019 and winter of 2020, was even lower, hitting a series-low 0.21 with 757,000 for its season premiere and logging 0.24 in the demo with 847,000 viewers on average. An eleventh and final season premiered in December 2020 and averaged the lowest ratings of its entire run with just a 0.13 in the demo and 576,000 viewers on average. 'Shameless' aired a total of 134 episodes over the course of its 11 season run.

NBC's 'Titan Games' led the Monday broadcast ratings in adults 18-49 (0.77 rating) and led among the few originals in total viewers (3.88 million) though technically a rerun of CBS's 'The Neighborhood' had the highest overall viewership (4.14 million). Leading-out 'Titan Games' was 'The Wall' (0.71, 3.83 million) which itself had strong summer numbers. Those two programs led in adults 18-34 (0.4 each) and ranked top 2 in 25-54 (1.1 and 1.0). ABC had 'The Bachelor: Greatest Seasons Ever' which was OK at 0.40 in the demo with 2.11 million viewers and much better than the CW's 'Whose Line is it Anyway?' (0.21, 1.07 million) and 'Penn & Teller: Fool Us' (0.23, 1.13 million).

ABC's 9pm interview with John Bolton led the broadcast ratings among adults 18-49 (0.73 rating) and ranked second behind CBS's '60 Minutes' (0.58, 7.1 million) in total viewers (6.22 million). Leading into the Bolton interview was a 'John Legend and Family' Father's Day special which had modest numbers (0.42, 3.26 million) though it was much better than the '60 Minutes' lead-out 'A Grammy Tribute to Unsung Heroes' (0.23, 2.77 million). The only other original on the night was NBC's 'Hollywood Game Night' (0.24, 1.59 million).

On the cable side, Paramount's 'Yellowstone' looks like its on its way to become the next big hit series on cable. The third season premiere of brought in series-highs in both the key 18-49 demo (0.89 rating) and among total viewers (4.23 million), up hugely from last year's premiere (0.45/2.41 million) and finale (0.59/2.81 million). The show also led the day among men 18-49 (0.94), males 12-34 (0.39), and adults 25-54 (1.24). The premiere was also simulcast on both CMT (0.08/257,000) and Pop (0.05/261,000).

'NBC Nightly News Saturday' (5.16 million) led the Saturday broadcast ratings in adults 18-49 (0.5 rating) while ABC's nightly news coverage (0.4 rating) led in total viewers (5.3 million). In late afternoon, NBC had coverage of the 'Belmont Stakes' (0.4, 3.33 million) and before that, a pre-game show (0.3, 1.77 million). A 'Dateline' (0.35, 2.76 million) in the evening concluded NBC's night while two episodes of 'The Last Dance' documentary aired on ABC at 8pm (0.17, 1.03 million) and 9pm (0.14, 853,000).

Fox News's primetime line-up took the top 3 spots on Saturday cable with 'Justice with Judge Jeanine' dominating among adults 18-49 (0.94 rating), adults 25-54 (1.39), and total viewers (8.2 million). Lead-in 'Watters World' (0.76 in 18-49/1.15 in 25-54, 7.11 million) and lead-out 'The Greg Gutfeld Show' (0.53/0.81, 4.64 million) both also had stellar numbers.

The Soul Man (TV Land): Ratings Recap

TV Land's 'The Soul Man' premiered June 20, 2012 to a strong 0.6 adults 18-49 rating with 1.92 million viewers. Its first season averaged more than 1 million viewers (1.06 mil), but it was unable to hold those numbers in subsequent seasons. A second season aired in 2013 with 823,000 viewers, and a short third season aired in 2014 with a lightly-less 782,000. A fourth season aired in 2015 but tumbled hard to 479,000, and a fifth season (2016) was even lower at 336,000. It was not renewed for a sixth season. Note that the ratings for seasons 2 and 3 come from a source with access to Nielsen data.

The Exes (TV Land): Ratings Recap

TV Land's 'The Exes' premiered November 30, 2011 to a solid 0.3 adults 18-49 rating with 1.44 million viewers. It tumbled in week 2, but quickly recovered and ended up averaging a 0.27 rating and 1.19 million over its first 12 episodes. Its second season in 2012 and third season in 2013-14 were both down from the first season but relatively even with each other, averaging north of 900,000 viewers each. A fourth and final season premiered in the fall of 2014 but lost about half in the demo and nearly 400K viewers on average. It concluded in 2015 to a 0.10 rating with 419,000 viewers.

Best Week Ever (VH1): Ratings Recap

VH1's 'Best Week Ever' premiered January 18, 2013 to a 0.2 adults 18-49 rating (235K in the demo) with 298,000 viewers; it hit a high of 0.2 (247K) with 369,000 viewers and a low of 0.1 (79K) with 104,000 viewers in the first season, averaging 204,000 viewers (139K in the demo). A second season premiered in the fall of 2013 and despite the fact that its 26 episodes averaged higher than the first season (248,000), it was not renewed for a third season.

FOX's 'WWE Friday Night Smackdown' led the Friday broadcast ratings in both adults 18-34 (0.3 rating) and 18-49 (0.51) with 2.07 million viewers; in rounded 18-49s, it tied a rerun of ABC's '20/20' (0.49, 3.05 million). Also on ABC was a 'Juneteenth' special which was at 0.45 in the demo and 3.28 million viewers; all three of these programs tied in 25-54s (0.7). Finally, the CW had 'Masters of Illusion' (0.14, 698,000). 

On the cable side, Fox News's 'Tucker Carlson Tonight' led the day among adults 18-49 (0.32 rating), 25-54 (0.49), and total viewers (3.49 million). On that same net was 'Hannity' (0.26/0.43, 3.12 million) and 'The Ingraham Angle' (0.23/0.41, 2.73 million). MSNBC had 'The Rachel Maddow Show' (0.19/0.31, 2.87 million) and 'Last Word with Lawrence O'Donnell' (0.13/0.21, 1.84 million).

TV Ratings: Thursday June 18, 2020

Twas another relatively busy evening on the broadcast nets Thursday night with ABC's programming line-up bringing in the top numbers. On top was 'Holey Moley' at 0.70 in the demo with 3.81 million viewers and the best numbers on either broadcast or cable in adults 25-54 (1.0). Lead-out 'Don't' shed a tenth in the demo, down to 0.63 with 3.36 million viewers and 'To Tell the Truth' was at 0.54 with 3.16 million. The best viewership on the day came from a rerun of 'Young Sheldon,' on CBS (4.93 million) and that net's only original program, 'Broke' was pretty solid itself, grabbing 3.61 million (0.47 in the demo). Over at NBC, 'Council of Dads' (0.34, 2.73 million) and 'Blindspot' (0.28, 1.82 million) remained fractional as did FOX's  'Labor of Love' (0.28, 1.04 million) though lead-in 'Celebrity Watch Party' (0.42, 1.57 million) found moderate success. Finally, over at the CW, 'Burden of Truth' (0.08, 478,000) and 'In the Dark' (0.08, 445,000) were low.

TV Ratings: Wednesday June 17, 2020

CBS's 'Game On!' led all of broadcast and cable Thursday in both adults 18-49 (0.57 rating) and 25-54 (0.8), and ranked second in 18-34 (0.3) behind MTV's 'Challenge: Total Madness' (0.42); it averaged 3.26 million total viewers. Over at ABC, an airing of 'Toy Story 3' (0.42, 2.15 million) led into a new episode of 'Marvel's Agents of SHIELD' (0.28, 1.4 million), and at FOX, 'Ultimate Tag' (0.45, 1.57 million) brought in OK numbers. Finally, the CW was fractional with 'The 100' (0.18, 682,000) and 'Bulletproof' (0.07, 356,000).

TV Ratings: Tuesday June 16, 2020

NBC's 'America's Got Talent,' again strolled to an easy victory Tuesday on the broadcast nets. The program delivered a strong 1.28 18-49 rating with 8.57 million total viewers (besting everything on cable too). In addition, it averaged a 0.8 18-34 rating and a 1.8 25-54 rating. Lead-out 'World of Dance' lost 4-tenths in the demo (0.85) and fell by half in total viewers (4.16 million) though was still easily the second-best on the day in either metric. Other originals on the night include ABC's 'Genetic Detective' (0.38 in 18-49, 2.8 million) and the CW's 'Stargirl' (0.19, 940,000). The CW's other program, 'Marina Franklin: Single Black Female' hit one of the only ever rounded zero ratings in the history of broadcast television (0.04) and found just 290,000 viewers.

Legit (FX/FXX): Ratings Recap

'Legit' premiered January 17, 2013 on FX to a 0.4 adults 18-49 rating with 650,000 viewers. The show found success in its first season, hitting a high 0.5 demo rating and 840,000 viewers and had about 75% of its viewers in the demo every episode of the season. The season as a whole averaged 467,000 18-49 viewers and 616,000 total viewers. For its second season in 2014, the show was moved to FX's sister net, FXX, but had disastrous results. It premiered to a then-series-low 0.15 rating with 256,000 viewers but slipped all the way down to 0.02 with 62,000 viewers by its season finale. It was not renewed for a third season. TV Ratings: Monday June 15, 2020

NBC's line-up of originals led the net to a broadcast victory on Monday night with 'Titan Games' (0.70 in 18-49, 3.79 million viewers) on top, followed by 'The Wall' (0.64, 3.75 million), and 'Songland' (0.50, 2.42 million). ABC's 'The Bachelor' (0.44, 2.15 million) was next, but tied 'Titan' for the lead in 18-34 (0.4 rating). With CBS and FOX all in reruns, the only other original on the night was the CW's 'Roswell, New Mexico' at 0.11 in the demo with 651,000 viewers. 

TLC is really milking the '90 Day Fiance' franchise for all its worth with '90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days' leading the cable ratings. The show delivered a 0.73 18-49 rating (including a 0.96 in W18-49) with 2.62 million viewers and also led among adults 18-34 (0.51) and females 12-34 (0.58). Lead-out '90 Day Fiance: The Other Way' was at 0.68 in the demo with 2.56 million viewers including 0.91 in W18-49, 0.42 in 18-34, and 0.49 in F12-34.

TV Ratings: Sunday June 14, 2020

ABC aired four hours of original programming Sunday night with 'Celebrity Family Feud' (0.80 in 18-49, 5.26 million) taking the lead in the demo and seeing a nice jump from lead-in 'America's Funniest Home Videos' (0.61, 4.69 million). Lead-outs 'Press Your Luck' (0.66, 3.89 million) and 'Match Game' (0.57, 3.45 million) also brought in strong numbers. Other broadcast originals on Sunday were CBS's '60 Minutes' (0.69, 7.93 million) and NBC's 'Hollywood Game Night' (0.21, 1.55 million). Everything else was in reruns.

On the cable side, TLC's '90 Day Fiance' brought in the top numbers on either broadcast or cable in adults 18-49 (0.92 rating) women 18-49 (1.21), and adults 18-34 (0.67) with 3.19 million total viewers. Lead-out 'Smothered' lost more than half in each of those measures (0.43 in 18-49/0.59 in W18-49/0.31 in 18-34) as well as in total viewers (1.63 million), and at 11pm, '90 Day Fiance: Pillow Talk' was at 0.38/0.50/0.23 with 1.41 million viewers. Among females 12-34, those three programs took the top 3 cable spots with 0.78/0.38/0.27 ratings.

NBC's 9pm 'Dateline' led a very slow Saturday night with a 0.35 adults 18-49 rating with 3.19 million viewers. Its 8pm 'Dateline Special' lead-in delivered 0.26 with 2.7 million viewers. The only other telecasts worth nothing were ABC's two airings of ESPN's 'The Last Dance' which were at 0.19/1.17 million at 8pm and 0.20/1.02 million at 9pm. Outside of primetime, ABC's 'World News Tonight' at 6:30pm was strong with a 0.5 in the demo and 5.67 million viewers (including the day's best 0.3 rating in 18-34).

TV Ratings: Friday June 12, 2020

FOX's 'WWE Smackdown' and the CW's 'Masters of Illusion' were the only two original programs airing on the broadcast nets Friday night' 'Smackdown' easily led among adults 18-49 (0.51 rating) and 18-34 (0.3) and was modest among total viewers (2.07 million). 'Illusion' was much lower at 0.13 in the demo with 753,000 viewers. The most-viewed telecast on broadcast was a rerun of 'Magnum, P.I.' on CBS (4.08 million).

It was another strong night for cable news with FOX News's regular line-up taking the top three spots on the day in 18-49, 25-54, and total viewers. 'Tucker Carlson Tonight' (0.33 in 18-49/0.52 in 25-54, 3.88 million) was the best, followed by 'Hannity' (0.32/0.49, 3.71 million), and 'The Ingraham Angle' (0.25/0.44, 3.16 million). Interestingly, MSNBC's 'The Rachel Maddow Show' (0.24/0.35, 2.92 million) fared much better than anything on CNN though 'CNN Tonight' (0.21/0.33, 1.34 million) was close. Other cable news programs were 'Cuomo Primetime' at 8pm (0.17/0.29, 1.42 million) & 9pm (0.19/0.32, 1.46 million), and 'Last Word with Lawrence O'Donnell' (0.14/0.23, 1.88 million).

It was a busy night Thursday on broadcast with all 5 networks airing original programming, but ABC took victory in the demo with strong performances from the series-premiere of 'Don't' (0.85 in 18-49, 4.18 million viewers) as well as lead-in 'Holey Moley' (0.75, 4.13 million) and lead-out 'To Tell the Truth' (0.67, 3.62 million). CBS took a close second in the demo, but led in total viewers as both 'Man with a Plan' (0.60, 5.03 million) and 'Broke' (0.56, 4.08 million) delivered solid numbers. The highest-viewed program of the day also came from CBS with a rerun of 'Young Sheldon' (5.19 million). 

On FOX, 'Celebrity Watch Party' (0.41, 1.57 million) out-rated both original NBC programs 'Council of Dads' (0.34, 2.75 million) and 'Blindspot' (0.25, 1.83 million) and did really well among adults 18-34 (0.3) tying for second with 'Holey Moley' and 'To Tell the Truth.' 'Don't' had the best numbers in that demo with 0.4. Leading out of 'Watch Party' was 'Labor of Love' which had dismal numbers (0.24, 912,000) though not as bad as the CW's two programs 'Burden of Truth' (0.10, 495,000) and 'In the Dark' (0.09, 433,000).

TV Ratings: Wednesday June 10, 2020

On a Wednesday night with few originals airing, CBS's 'Game On!' (0.51, 3.52 million viewers) tied FOX's 'Ultimate Tag' (0.53, 1.84 million) in unrounded 18-49s, but 'Game' had around 1.7 million more viewers than 'Tag' and an additional tenth in adults 25-54 (0.8 v. 0.7). Both shows tied in 18-34 with 0.3. NBC's entire line-up was in reruns though each one notched a 0.5 rounded rating, as did ABC's primetime movie 'Big Hero 6' (2.45 million). Other originals on the night include 'Marvel's Agents of SHIELD' (0.34, 1.57 million), and the CW's 'The Hundred' (0.16, 635,000). Finally, 'Bulletproof,' on the CW, returned for its second season with absolutely dismal numbers: 0.06 in the demo and just 376,000 viewers.

TV Ratings: Tuesday June 9, 2020

NBC's 'America's Got Talent' had another dominating victory, cementing its place as the top-rated program of the summer. Tuesday's episode scored a 1.33 adults 18-49 rating and 8.63 million viewers and also led all programming (cable included) in adults 18-34 (0.8) and 25-54 (1.9). Lead-out 'World of Dance' had the second-best numbers on the day in 18-49 (0.78) and 18-34 (0.4) with 4.34 million viewers. Other broadcast programs include ABC's 'Genetic Detective' (0.38, 2.73 million) and the CW's 'Stargirl' (0.22, 1.1 million). 

Elsewhere, Bravo's 'Vanderpump Rules' led cable in adults 18-49 (0.43 rating), women 18-49 (0.58), and females 12-34 (0.22) with 1.19 million viewers. Lead-out 'Dirty John' (0.22, 905,000) was at 0.32/0.15 in those demos. 'Deadliest Catch,' on Discovery, had the second-best numbers among 18-49 (0.37) and led in men 18-49 (0.45) and males 12-34 (0.24) with 1.63 million total viewers.

Deutschland Miniseries (Sundance TV): Ratings Recap

UPDATED 2020: Sundance TV's 'Deutschland 83' premiered as a miniseries on June 17, 2015 to a minuscule 0.01 rating with 66,000 viewers and went as high as 0.03 in the demo and 143,000 viewers. It averaged 0.02 & 90,000 viewers over its 8 episodes. A second installment of episodes, titled 'Deutschland 86,' premiered 3 years later in 2018 and delivered similar numbers, averaging a 0.02 rating with 83,000 viewers over the course of 10 episodes. A third installment, titled 'Deutschland 89' aired in 2020 to the lowest numbers yet, premiering to zero ratings and finishing with 29,000 viewers. Note: ratings for episodes 3-6 of the final season were not made available. Full ratings added.

Vida (Starz) & Sweetbitter (Starz): Ratings Recaps

Both Starz's 'Vida' and 'Sweetbitter' premiered May 6, 2018 to extremely low numbers - 0.01 in the demo for both with 20,000 viewers for the former and 38,000 for the latter. Luckily, the numbers picked up after that and both averaged over 100,000 viewers for their six-episode seasons: 164,000 for 'Sweetbitter' and 130,000 for 'Vida.' Both received second seasons though 'Vida's' premiered in the spring of 2019 while 'Sweetbitter's' was in the summer. The second season of 'Vida' held its first season's numbers pretty well, losing just 10K viewers on average and just a hundredth in the demo - good enough for a third season renewal. 'Sweetbitter,' on the other hand, lost half of its demo and nearly half of its viewership in its second season and was cancelled by Starz. A 6-episode third season of 'Vida' premiered in 2020, but averaged just 94,000 viewers and was cancelled. 

TV Ratings: Monday June 8, 2020

NBC's Monday night summer line-up brought in strong numbers for the network, leading all programming on the broadcast nets in both adults 18-49 and 25-54. 'Titan Games' (0.78 in 18-49, 3.9 million viewers) was up first at 8pm, followed by 'The Wall' (0.67, 3.77 million) and 'Songland' (0.47, 2.35 million); among adults 25-54, they were at 1.1/1.0/0.8 respectively. Only a rerun of 'The Neighborhood' on CBS (0.8) and TLC's '90 Day Fiance,' on cable, did equal or better in that demo (1.24). Elsewhere, ABC aired a 'Bachelor Greatest Seasons Ever' special (0.44, 2.41 million) which tied 'Titan' for the best 18-34 performance on broadcast (0.4); and the CW had 'Roswell, New Mexico' which floundered at 0.13 in the demo and 661,000 viewers.

TV Ratings: Sunday June 7, 2020

ABC's 'Celebrity Family Feud' was Sunday's top draw among adults 18-49 on the broadcast nets, delivering a 0.88 rating with 5.71 million viewers. 'Feud' also led among adults 25-54 (1.3 rating) and tied CBS's '60 Minutes' (0.62 in 18-49, 7.77 million viewers) in adults 18-34 (0.4). Lead-outs 'Press Your Luck' (0.60, 3.8 million) and 'Match Game' (0.47, 3.23 million) had decent summer numbers. Elsewhere on broadcast was CBS's 'Grease Sing-a-long' (0.50, 3.89 million) and the return of NBC's 'Hollywood Game Night' (0.27, 1.77 million).

On the cable side, it was the first day in a while with minimal impact from cable news nets. CNN's 9pm hour of 'Situation Room' was the top rating for news nets, ranking 16th on the day in adults 18-49 (0.24 rating) and tied for 8th in 25-54 (0.38). Among total viewers, it averaged 1.51 million.

TV Ratings: Saturday June 6, 2020

ABC's airing of the ESPN docuseries 'The Last Dance' was really the only thing of note on the broadcast networks Saturday. There were three episodes airing at 8pm (0.2 in 18-49, 1.28 million viewers), 9pm (0.2, 1.16 million) and 10pm (0.3, 1.21 million). The top performer on broadcast for the day was 'ABC World News Tonight' at 6:30pm which was at 0.5 in the demo and 5.77 million viewers. It edged out both NBC's 'Nightly News Saturday' (0.4, 4.69 million) and CBS's 'Weekend News Saturday' (0.2, 2.38 million). In primetime, NBC, CBS, and FOX were in reruns.

On the cable side, CNN's 'Sesame Street Town Hall' led the day in adults 18-49 (0.32 rating) and tied for second in 25-54s with 8pm's 'Situation Room.' Among total viewers the two programs were at 1.31 million and 1.68 million. The best airings of the day in 25-54 belonged to the 9pm and 10pm editions of 'Situation Room' (1.62 million and 1.42 million viewers) and Fox News' 'The Greg Gutfeld Show' (all three at 0.42).

TV Ratings: Friday June 5, 2020

ABC's '20/20' led a very slow night on both broadcast and cable, averaging a 0.56 18-49 rating and saw growth from its 'Shark Tank' rerun lead-in in people over 50 (6 share vs. 5 share) and total viewers (3.93 million vs. 3.57 million). On FOX, 'WWE Friday Night Smackdown' (0.51 rating, 1.99 million) brought in broadcast's best numbers in adults 18-34 (0.3 rating), and on the CW, a new episode of 'Masters of Illusion' (0.10, 660,000) was a speck. NBC and CBS were all in reruns for the night though notably, CBS's 10pm rerun of 'Blue Bloods' was the most watched program on either broadcast or cable (4.23 million), but also skewed quite old with an 8 share in people over 50. 

On the cable side, news programming took up 14 of the top 15 spots on the day with Fox News's 'Tucker Carlson Tonight' leading in adults 18-49 (0.39), 25-54 (0.65) and total viewers (4.068 million). Lead-out 'Hannity' was close behind at 0.37/0.63 in those respective demos (also 4.068 million viewers), but 'The Ingraham Angle' lagged a bit at 0.28/0.49 and 3.4 million.

The Split (Sundance TV/BBC America): Ratings Recap

UPDATED 2022: Sundance TV's 'The Split' premiered May 23, 2018 to a low 0.02 adults 18-49 rating and 88,000 viewers which ended up being the season's best performance. It fell to a zero rating in week 3 but recovered slightly, averaging a 0.01 rating and 69,000 viewers. It was renewed for a second season which aired in 2020 to much better numbers. It hit a series-high 0.03 rating and 184,000 viewers for its premiere and never dropped below 100K viewers. Its second season average was double the rating and viewership of its first season average, pulling a 0.02 and 139,000. A third season aired on BBC America in 2022, down from what the second season brought in, but on par with the first season.

Make It or Break It (ABC Family): Ratings Recap

ABC Family's 'Make It or Break It' premiered June 22, 2009 to 2.5 million viewers, with 1 million of them in the 18-49 demo and 1.12 million in the female 12-34 demo (610,000 F12-17, 511,000 W18-34). The show actually performed quite well in its first season, remaining above 2 million viewers for most episodes, averaging about a 0.7 rating among adults 18-49, and concluding to 2.497 million viewers - virtually identical to its premiere. A second season premiered in 2010, and while it still brought in decent numbers, it lost some steam from its first season: it was logging between a 0.5 and 0.6 in the demo and between 1.5 and 2 million viewers for most episodes. A short third season premiered in 2012, but tumbled to series-lows in both the demo (0.4) and total viewers (907,000) mid-way through and was not renewed for a fourth season. Note: all available T12-17 ratings are included in a table below the normal ratings table. 

10 Things I Hate About You (ABC Family): Ratings Recap

'10 Things I Hate About You' premiered July 7, 2009 on ABC Family to a decent 0.6 adults 18-49 rating and 1.6 million viewers. It hit a viewership high of 1.8 million in its fourth episode (including a 2.3 rating in Teens 12-17) but was unable to sustain those numbers. It concluded the first half of its season in September 2009 with 1.21 million viewers and came back 8 months later with a strong 1.45 million viewers, but took a nosedive the following week and was unable to recover. It hit an 18-49 low of 0.2 and viewership low of 646,000 in the spring of 2010 and ended its run with just 745,000 viewers. It was cancelled after a single season. TV Ratings: Thursday June 4, 2020

ABC's 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire?' led the whole day on both broadcast and cable in adults 18-49 (0.85 rating) and total viewers (6.52 million). It also brought in the day's top numbers in both adults 18-34 (0.5 rating) and 25-54 (1.2). Lead-outs 'Holey Moley' (0.70 in 18-49, 3.83 million) and 'To Tell the Truth' (0.60, 3.58 million) both remained solid, each losing just an unrounded tenth from last week. 

There was some positive news for CBS as new episodes of both 'Man with a Plan' (0.60, 4.84 million) and 'Broke' (0.57, 4.06 million) retained last week's numbers. The same was the case for NBC's 'Council of Dads' (0.37, 2.74 million) and 'Blindspot' (0.31, 1.96 million). Over at FOX, 'Celebrity Watch Party' (0.37, 1.44 million) had strong week-to-week retention though 'Labor of Love' (0.22, 900,000) dipped below 1 million viewers. Finally, the CW had new episodes of 'Burden of Truth' (0.09, 515,000) and 'In the Dark' (0.09, 447,000).

TV Ratings: Wednesday June 3, 2020

On a night with limited original programming on the broadcast nets, ABC's primetime movie, 'Up (2009)' delivered the top rating in the key demo (0.67) and logged 3.34 million total viewers. CBS's 'Game On!' (0.6, 3.75 million viewers) was just a tenth behind in 18-49, but tied 'Up' in adults 25-54 (both 0.9). Next was FOX's 'Ultimate Tag' (0.51, 1.73 million) which out-rated broadcast's only original scripted series, ABC's 'Marvel's Agents of SHIELD' (0.33, 1.5 million) by 2 tenths. Last was CW's 'The 100' at 0.21 in the demo and 708,000 viewers.

As has been the pattern of late, cable news programming took up 20 of the top 25 spots on cable for the day with CNN taking up 12 of those spots (all in the top 20). CNN's primetime programming was ranked one, two, and three on the day in both 18-49 and 25-54 with 10pm's 'CNN Tonight' (0.60 in 18-49/0.84 in 25-54, 2.8 million viewers) on top, then 8pm's 'Anderson Cooper 360' (0.60/0.89, 3.25 million) and 9pm's 'Cuomo Primetime' (0.57/0.85, 3.17 million).

TV Ratings: Tuesday June 2, 2020

NBC's 'America's Got Talent' had no real competition on Tuesday night, easily leading the night in both the 18-49 demo (1.31 rating) and total viewers (8.75 million). 'Talent' also had the night locked down in adults 25-54 (1.9 rating) averaging 8-tenths above of its closest broadcast competition and almost a full point above its closet cable competition. Also on NBC was 'World of Dance' (0.84, 4.25 million) which lost a sizable 5-tenths in the demo from it's 'Talent' lead-in and more than half of its viewers. 

On ABC, 'America in Pain' (0.52, 2.84 million) led into a new episode of 'Genetic Detective' (0.38, 2.87 million) though both were fractional. 'Pain' a tenth ahead in both 18-34 (0.3 vs. 0.2) and 25-54 (0.8 vs. 0.7). 'Detective's' only advantage was in people over 50 where it was 1 share point ahead of 'Pain' (5 share vs. 4 share).

TV Ratings: Monday June 1, 2020

On a relatively busy summer Monday, ABC, NBC, and the CW all had original programs on the airwaves. NBC's 'Titan Games' (0.81, 4.04 million) led the evening, followed by ABC's 'Celebrity Family Feud' (0.75, 4.93 million). 'The Wall' (0.74, 3.96 million) and 'Songland' (0.54, 2.58 million) finished off NBC's night while the finale of 'The Baker and the Beauty' (0.52, 2.7 million) finished off ABC's. The two CW airings, 'Iconic: TLC' (0.12, 474,000) and 'Roswell, New Mexico' (0.10, 537,000) barely registered.

TV Ratings: Sunday May 31, 2020

ABC's 'Celebrity Family Feud' led all programming on the broadcast nets Sunday in the 18-49 demo (0.77 rating, 4.62 million viewers) though CBS's '60 Minutes' (0.61, 7.68 million) led in total viewership. Leading out of 'Feud' was 'Press Your Luck' (0.67, 3.41 million) and closing out ABC's night was 'Match Game' (0.57, 2.93 million). NBC, FOX, and the CW were all in reruns. 

On the cable side, '90 Day Fiance,' on TLC, easily led all of cable in adults 18-49 (1.25 rating) and total viewers (4.06 million) as well as in women 18-49 (1.59 rating), adults 18-34 (0.94), females 12-34 (1.04) and people 25-54 (1.56). Lead-out, 'Smothered' (0.48, 1.61 million) also brought in solid returns in W18-49 (0.63) and F12-34 (0.36).

TV Ratings: Saturday May 30, 2020

ABC's airing of the ESPN documentary 'The Last Dance' was the only original program airing broadcast Saturday night, delivering a 0.3 adults 18-49 rating with 1.27 million viewers.

Coverage of the Space Shuttle Launch dominated the Saturday cable ratings. Discovery Channel's coverage from 3:22-3:32pm was the top rated telecast of the day in all major demos including adults 18-49 (1.29 rating), adults 18-34 (0.76), adults 25-54 (1.56) and total viewers (4.63 million). The remaining 27-minutes of the 3:00 hour averaged the day's second-best numbers in each of those demos (1.05/0.65/1.24) and found 3.75 million viewers. The 82-minutes leading up to the launch (beginning at 2pm) also scored well in the ratings with 0.52/0.29/0.63 and 2.07 million viewers. 

TV Ratings: Friday May 29, 2020

FOX's 'WWE Friday Night Smackdown' (0.53 in 18-49, 2.06 million viewers) led among originals on a rerun-filled night on broadcast. An ABC special, 'Haircut Night in America' (0.44, 3.33 million) brought in okay numbers, but was behind reruns of 'Shark Tank' (0.52, 3.38 million) and '20/20' (0.45, 3.37 million). The only other original airing on broadcast was CW's 'Masters of Illusion' (0.12, 786,000). 

Cable news coverage of the "Black Lives Matter" protests dominated the day's cable ratings with CNN taking 8 of the top 10 spots on the day and 14 of the top 20. The top airing for CNN was 10pm's 'CNN Tonight' which led the day in adults 18-49 (0.88 rating), adults 25-54 (1.21) and total viewers (3.66 million). 'Cuomo Prime Time' at 9pm (1.13 in 25-54, 3.88 million) and 11pm's 'CNN Tonight' (0.91, 2.6 million) were ranked second and third.

TV Ratings: Thursday May 28, 2020

Thursday was a busy night on broadcast with a number of shows airing new episodes. ABC had the top three airings of the night with 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire?' (0.90 in 18-49, 6.07 million viewers), 'Holey Moley' (0.78, 3.99 million) and 'To Tell the Truth (0.69, 3.68 million) all bringing in decent summer numbers. CBS had new episodes of 'Man with a Plan' (0.63, 5.06 million) and 'Broke' (0.60, 4.45 million) sandwiched between reruns of other programs and NBC had new episodes of 'Council of Dads' (0.42, 2.74 million) and 'Blindspot' (0.29, 1.81 million) in fractional territory. Over at FOX, ill-conceived 'Celebrity Watch Party' (0.36, 1.6 million) somehow found an audience and most stuck around to watch 'Labor of Love' (0.25, 1.1 million). Finally, the CW had 'Burden of Truth' (0.09, 509,000) and 'In the Dark' (0.09, 457,000) both of which were invisible.

TV Ratings: Wednesday May 27, 2020

On ABC, 'Thor: The Dark World' (0.51 in 18-49, 2.54 million viewers) led off the night at 8pm followed by the season premiere of 'Marvel's Agents of SHIELD' (0.33, 1.82 million) which brought in its lowest numbers ever for a season premiere. The numbers were also down from last year's finale in both the demo (0.4) and total viewers (1.88 million). Over on CBS, the premiere of 'Game On' (0.65, 4.44 million) was the top airing on broadcast in both the demo and total viewers. NBC was all reruns, FOX had 'Ultimate Tag' (0.60, 2.08 million) which was the second-highest rated program on broadcast, and CW had 'The 100' (0.20, 757,000).
