TV Ratings: Wednesday July 1, 2020

CBS's 'Game On!' led the Wednesday broadcast ratings in the 18-49 demo (0.56 rating) and was the top-non NBC program among total viewers (3.21 million). 'On!' also led the day in adults 25-54 (0.8) and tied a rerun of FOX's 'Masterchef' in adults 18-34 (0.3 rating). NBC's entire line-up of 'Chicago' franchise programs was in reruns but 8pm's 'Chicago Med' led broadcast in total viewers (3.67 million). ABC brought in low numbers with 'Marvel's Agents of SHIELD' (0.30, 1.32 million) and the CW was even lower with 'The 100' (0.15, 642,000) and 'Bulletproof' (0.08, 346,000).

Over on cable, MTV's 'Challenge: Total Madness' (851,000 viewers) was the uncontested winner in adults 18-49 (0.47 rating) as well as in women 18-49 (0.62), adults 18-34 (0.48), and females 12-34 (0.55). The only other program do well in the major female demos was Food Network's 'Guy's Grocery Games' (0.28, 991,000) which was at 0.33 in W18-49 & 0.19 in F12-34.

Fox News's 'Tucker Carlson' and 'Hannity' were neck and neck in the ratings with the former up a hundredth over the latter in both adults 18-49 (0.38 vs. 0.37) and 25-54 (0.63 vs. 0.62). 'Hannity' though led among people over 50 by two tenths (3.29 vs. 3.09) and in total viewers (4.33 million vs. 4.12 million). 'The Ingraham Angle' closed out the night at 0.31 in 18-49, 0.52 in 25-54, and 3.41 million.

All three of CNN's primetime programs performed about evenly with 9pm & 10pm telecasts of 'Cuomo Primetime' tying among 18-49 (0.24) and off a hundredth in 25-54 (0.37 vs. 0.38). There was some separation in total viewers as 9pm (1.94 million) was ~250K higher than 10pm (1.69 million). That separation is accounted for in adults over 50 as 9pm beat 10pm by more than two tenths (1.39 vs. 1.16). 'Anderson Cooper 360' was close behind at 0.23, 0.36, 1.18, and 1.7 million. 

MSNBC's 'Rachel Maddow Show' beat out 'Ingraham' in people over 50 (2.6 vs. 2.55) and just barely in total viewers (3.411 million vs. 3.406 million) though was lower in both 18-49 (0.29) and 25-54 (0.42). Lead-out 'Lawrence O'Donnell' (0.19/0.30, 2.56 million) and lead-in 'Chris Hayes' (0.16/0.24, 2.08 million) did OK.

Elsewhere was TBS's 'Full Frontal with Samantha Bee' (0.18, 630,000) which did well in women 18-49 (0.22), and BET's 'The Oval' (0.17, 878,000) which also did well in that demo (0.24).
