2018 Winter Olympics Local Market Ratings

The Olympics were a West Coast and mid-west affair! West Coast markets dominated the Olympic ratings, led almost daily by Salt Lake City, Utah, which brought in a 29.6 local rating/55 share for the opening ceremonies, and averaged a 21.1/39 over the course of all 17 days. Other west coast cities with high weekly averages include Denver, Colorado (20.2/36), San Diego, California (17.0/32), and Seattle, Washington (16.7/31). In the mid-west, Minneapolis, Minnesota (17.5/32 average) Milwaukee, Wisconsin (17.1/28), and Kansas City, Missouri (16.8/27)  brought in big numbers during Olympic week. On the East Coast, the only markets to consistently make the top 10 each day were West Palm Beach, Florida (15.5/24 on average), Buffalo, New York (15.1/24), and Washington, DC (14.5/26).
