ALASKAN BUSH PEOPLE, on Discovery, easily topped the Friday cable ratings in both adults 18-49 (0.96 rating) and total viewers (3.2 million). THURSDAY AUGUST 6, 2015 CABLE TV RATINGS

It was a huge night on the cable networks Thursday as Fox News's coverage of the first REPUBLICAN PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE smashed all competition from both broadcast & cable with a 5.27 adults 18-49 rating and 24 million viewers. This was also the highest-rated and most-viewed program in the history of Fox News Channel and is about 7x the number of viewers who turned in for the first Republican debate four years ago (3.2 million). The debate also easily led across the board in all major demos including females 12-34 (2.9), adults 18-34 (3.77 rating), both men & women 18-34 (4.41/3.13), men & women 18-49 (6.03/4.53), adults 25-54 (6.64), men & women 25-54 (7.48/5.83), and men over 50 (15.59). This provided a huge lift for lead-out THE KELLY FILE which logged a 2.13 adults 18-49 rating, a 2.79 in A25-54, and 10.9 million viewers. Outside of debate coverage was the series-finale of THE DAILY SHOW with Jon Stewart at the helm; the show ranked third on the day in the key demo (1.43 rating) and delivered 3.47 million viewers.
