DVR Ratings: Week Ending December 18, 2016

Below are the DVR ratings for the week ending December 18, 2016. There are three charts below: the first includes Live+3 day time-shifted data for all programs that aired on the broadcast networks, and the second includes Live+7 time-shifted data for available broadcast programs, and the third includes Live+7 time-shifted data for programs that aired on cable networks. There are columns for both 18-49 increase and for total viewership increase and while many programs will have data provided for both metrics, some programs will only have data for one or the other depending on what was available.

Comedy Bang! Bang! (IFC): Ratings Recap

IFC's 'Comedy Bang! Bang!' premiered June 8, 2012 to a 0.08 adults 18-49 rating with 146,000 viewers. The 0.08 rating was the show's series-high in the demo, while the series-high in viewership belonged to an episode in the latter half of the third season (148,000). It hit its series-low demo rating, 0.00, on five occasions, and had a series-low in viewership of 8,000 viewers for an episode in its first season. The series concluded in December 2016 with two episodes that both averaged a 0.02 demo rating with 76,000 and 66,000 viewers. A total of 110 episodes aired over the course of five seasons.

Falling Water (USA): Ratings Recap

UPDATED 2018: USA Network's 'Falling Water' premiered in September 2016 to a 0.16 18-49 rating and 467,000 total viewers for its sneak peak. The regular time slot premiere brought in a slightly higher 0.19 rating and 670,000 viewers. The season remained consistent and concluded with a 0.14 & 470,000 viewers; it averaged a 0.15 & 480,000 viewers. A second season aired on Saturdays in early 2018 where it fell to just 0.09 in the demo and 349,000 viewers on-average. It was cancelled after 2 seasons.

Spartacus (Starz): Ratings Recap

Starz's 'Spartacus' premiered January 22, 2010 to a 0.3/1 adults 18-49 rating/share with 659,000 viewers. The first season saw significant growth, almost doubling by its season finale which had a 0.6/2 and 1.23 million viewers. A short 6-episode prequel season aired in 2011, scoring series-highs in its finale with a 0.8/2 and 1.72 million viewers. A second season premiered in 2012 to a 0.6 rating with 1.39 million viewers and averaged between 1.1 and 1.5 million viewers throughout its run, on par with the latter half of the first season. The third and final season premiered in 2013 to a mediocre 0.3 rating with 930,000 viewers, and ranged slightly below 1 million viewers in its 10-episode run, ultimately concluding to a 0.6 rating with 1.43 million viewers.

Magic City (Starz): Ratings Recap

Starz's 'Magic City' premiered March 30, 2012 as a sneak peek where it found a 0.19 adults 18-49 rating with 538,000 viewers. A repeat of that episode in its regular timeslot on April 6, 2012 only managed a 0.12 rating with 295,000 viewers. The 8-episode first season finished its run with a 0.14 rating and 498,000 viewers. A second season premiered in 2013 to a 0.1 rating with 496,000 viewers, and despite dropping to 338,000 on two separate occasions, performed on par, if not slightly better than the first season, bringing in 564,000 and 526,000 for its last two episodes. Even with its moderate second season success, the show was not renewed for a third.

Doll & Em (HBO): Ratings Recap

HBO's 'Doll & Em' premiered March 19, 2014 to a 0.04 rating with 123,000 viewers at 10pm and a 0.03 rating with 116,000 viewers for its second episode. The first season aired double episodes over the course of three weeks, concluding with double 138,000s and 0.05/0.04 in the demo. A second season premiered in 2015 to a 0.06 rating with 161,000 viewers - its series high in both - and concluded down to 0.03 with 75,000 viewers. It was cancelled after two seasons.

Eyewitness (USA): Ratings Recap

USA Network's 'Eyewitness' premiered in 2016 to a 0.20 18-49 rating and 765,000 total viewers.  It remained very stable throughout its season, hitting an 18-49 low of 0.15 on four occasions, and hitting a viewership low 563,000. The show concluded with a 0.20 rating and 741,000 viewers. Over the course of its 10-episode single season, it averaged a 0.17 rating and 639,000 viewers. It was not renewed for a second season.

Flesh & Bone (Starz): Ratings Recap

Starz's 'Flesh & Bone' premiered November 8, 2015 to a 0.06 adults 18-49 rating with 190,000 total viewers. It steadily declined for its next five episodes, falling to a 0.03 rating with 73,000 viewers in its sixth episode, briefly rose in its penultimate episode (to 0.06 and 116,000), but finished its run down to a speck 0.02 rating and 93,000 viewers.

The Borgias (Showtime): Ratings Recap

Showtime's 'The Borgias' premiered April 3, 2011 to a 0.3 adults 18-49 rating with slightly over 1.06 million viewers. It tumbled in week 2 to a 0.1 with 683,000 viewers, but recovered up to a 0.2 with 810,000 viewers by its inaugural season finale. A second season premiered in 2012 to a 0.2 rating with 605,000 viewers hit a season-high 621,000 viewers in its penultimate episode, and averaged 574,000 viewers over its 10 episodes. The third season premiered in 2013 to a 0.2 with 582,000 viewers, but saw noticeable increases from the previous season. It rebounded to a two-season-high 804,000 viewers in the week following a series-low (421,000), and averaged 608,000 viewers. Despite these successes, the series was cancelled after three seasons.

Da Vinci's Demons (Starz): Ratings Recap

Starz's 'Da Vinci's Demons' premiered April 12, 2013 to a 0.4 adults 18-49 rating with 1.04 million viewers. It fell by over half in week 2, down to 0.2 with 503,000 viewers, and was never able to recover; it finished its first season to a season-lo1 0.1 rating with 379,000 viewers. A second season premiered in 2014 to a slightly positive note, up to a 0.22 rating with 578,000 viewers, fell to 255,000 mid-way through the season, and ended with a 0.15 rating with 435,000 viewers. A third and final season premiered in 2015 to a then series-low 0.07 rating with 238,000 viewers, but the record low eventually dropped as far as 0.02 in 18-49s and only 102,000 viewers. The series concluded to a 0.03 rating with 202,000 viewers and was not renewed for a fourth season.

Cinemax's 'The Knick' premiered August 8, 2014 to a 0.10 rating with 354,000 viewersIt rose to a series-high 0.13 with 419,000 viewers in its second week, and concluded stable with its premiere at 0.09 and 413,000 viewers. A second season premiered in 2015 to a 0.07 rating with 269,000 viewers, fell as low as 0.03 with 166,000 viewers, and ended with a 0.05 rating and 275,000 viewers. It was not renewed for a third season.

Masters of Sex (Showtime): Ratings Recap

Showtime's 'Masters of Sex' premiered September 29, 2013 to a 0.37 adults 18-49 rating with 998,000 viewers, rose to 1.09 million viewers in its second episode and hit a series-high 0.47 rating with 1.23 million viewers in the penultimate episode of the first season just before concluding to 1.21 million viewers. A second season premiered in 2014 to a 0.32 rating with 825,000 viewers and ended to a 0.28 rating with 889,000 viewers, while the 2015 third season began much lower at 0.13 with 583,000 viewers and ended slightly up at 0.14 with 605,000. The fourth and final season premiered in 2016 to a 0.13 with 518,000 viewers, hit a series-low 0.08 with 393,000 towards the end of the seasons, and concluded to a 0.12 and 457,000 viewers. The series was not renewed for a fifth season.

Hawthorne (TNT): Ratings Recap

TNT's 'Hawthorne' premiered June 16, 2009 to a 1.2/4 adults 18-49 rating/share with 3.83 million viewers. After hitting a low of 2.63 million viewers in week 4, the show rebounded to a 1.2/3 with 3.52 million viewers by its inaugural season finale. A second season premiered in 2010 to a 1.1/3 rating with 3.42 million viewers, and ended on a similar note: 1.0/3 and 3.48 million viewers. The third and final season premiered in 2011 to a 0.7 rating with 2.58 million viewers, but only managed to recover to 0.8 with 2.87 million viewers by its series finale. The show aired a total of 30 episodes over the course of its 3 seasons.

The Glades (A&E): Ratings Recap

A&E's 'The Glades' premiered July 11, 2010 to a 0.9/3 adults 18-49 rating/share with 3.55 million viewers. The first season concluded to 2.69 million viewers, and concluded to a 0.8 rating and 3.08 million viewers. A second season premiered in 2011 and averaged a 0.7 rating with 2.6 million viewers, and a third season premiered in 2012 and averaged a 0.7 rating with 3.01 million viewers. The fourth and final season premiered in 2013 to a 0.7 rating with 3.26 million viewers, and concluded to a 0.9 with 3.41 million viewers, averaging a 0.6 and 2.6 million viewers over 13 episodes. The series was cancelled after four seasons.

Happyish (Showtime): Ratings Recap

Showtime's 'Happyish' premiered as a sneak peak on April 5, 2015, averaging a 0.15 adults 18-49 rating with 430,000 viewers. In its official premiere on April 26, 2015, it dropped down to 0.06 and 232,000 viewers and was never able to recover. It managed a series-high of 0.15 with 343,000 viewers, but concluded down to a 0.08 with 261,000. The series averaged a 0.08 rating and 244,000 viewers over its 10 episodes, and was not renewed for a second season.

The Pillars of the Earth & The Chair (Starz): Ratings Recaps

Below are the ratings for two of Starz's short-lived series' - one from 2010 and the other from 2014. I don't really have a good reason why I'm putting both of them in the same post other than that I complied the lists at the same time and neither has additional ratings charts, so it felt like a waste to put them in separate posts. 18-49 ratings were not available for two of the episodes of 'The Pillars of the Earth' though it can be assumed they fell between a 0.1 and 0.2.

Leverage (TNT): Ratings Recap

TNT's 'Leverage' premiered December 7, 2008 to a 1.6 adults 18-49 rating with 4.99 million viewers. It dropped to 3.11 million in week 2, before stabilizing around 3 million viewers for the remainder of the season, averaging 3.15 million over 13 episodes. A second season premiered in the summer of 2009 to a 1.0 rating with 3.89 million viewers, and averaged 3.32 million viewers - up from the first season. The series' downward trend began in its third season, airing in 2010, when it averaged 3.16 million viewers and a 0.9 rating; it fell harder in its fourth season (2011), averaging a 0.8 with 2.76 million viewers. A fifth and final season premiered in 2012 to a 0.8 rating with 3.39 million viewers, and concluded to a 0.7 with 3.04 million viewers, after falling to a season-low 0.5 with 1.91 million, four weeks earlier. This final season averaged only a 0.6 rating and 2.48 million viewers. The series aired a total of 77 episodes over five seasons.

A&E's 'Damien' premiered March 7, 2016 to a 0.31 adults 18-49 rating with 753,000 total viewers. It dropped to 0.21 with 535,000 viewers in week 2, and hit a series-low 0.12 rating and 371,000 viewers half-way through its run. It rebounded slightly before ultimately concluding to a 0.14 with 405,000 viewers. Over the course of its 10-episode run, it averaged a 0.18 and 478,000 viewers.

Looking (HBO): Ratings Recap

HBO's 'Looking' premiered January 19, 2014 to a 0.15 adults 18-49 rating with 338,000 total viewers. It hit a series-low 0.06 rating with 118,000 viewers on the Saturday before the 2014 Super Bowl (0.08/183K on Super Bowl Night), but rose to a series-high 519,000 viewers, and ultimately concluded its first season to a 0.20 rating with 425,000 viewers. A second season premiered in 2015 to a 0.09 adults 18-49 rating with 183,000 viewers and ended with a 0.12 rating and 298,000 viewers. The series was cancelled after 2 seasons; however, a TV movie aired in July 2016 and was seen by 298,000 viewers.

Penny Dreadful (Showtime): Ratings Recap

Showtime's 'Penny Dreadful' premiered May 11, 2014 to a 0.39 adults 18-49 rating with 872,000 viewers, stayed above 700,000 viewers for all 8 episodes of its first season, and concluded to a 0.33 rating with 856,000 viewers. A second season premiered in 2015 to a 0.21 rating with 575,000 viewers, hit a low of 523,000, but recovered to a 0.30 with 746,000 viewers for its season finale. A third and final season premiered in 2016 to a 0.18 rating with 540,000 viewers, hit a low of 0.13 with 448,000, and finished off to a 0.14 rating and 551,000 viewers. It aired a total of 27 episodes over the course of its three seasons.

Portlandia (IFC): Ratings Recap

UPDATED 2018: IFC's 'Portlandia' premiered on January 21, 2011 to 263,000 viewers and concluded its inaugural season to 209,000. The series aired for a total of eight seasons, hitting a series-high 379,000 in viewers in its third season, and a series-low 84,000 viewers in its eighth season. A special episode aired in the summer of 2012 and only garnered 34,000 viewers and a 0.02 rating. A final season of the show premiered in 2018 to a 0.05 adults 18-49 rating with 152,000 viewers, and hovered just above 100,000 viewers, concluding with a 0.03 rating and 136,000 viewers.

Knife Fight (Esquire): Ratings Recap

Esquire's 'Knife Fight' premiered September 24, 2013 to a 0.03 rating with 61,000 viewers. It hit a season-low 0.00 18-49 rating once, and fell as low as 14,000 viewers on two occasions. The first season ended with a 0.03 rating and 48,000 viewers. A second season premiered in 2014 with a 0.02 rating and 44,000 viewers; it hit a series-high 0.12 rating with 190,000 viewers towards the end of the season, but concluded with 82,000 viewers and a 0.03 rating. Seasons three and four both aired in 2015 - the former concluding with a 0.03 rating and 89,000 viewers in July, and the latter finishing with a 0.04 and 110,000 viewers in December. The series was not renewed for a fifth season.

Sundance's 'The Honourable Woman' premiered July 31, 2014 to a 0.03 adults 18-49 rating with 252,000 viewers. It promptly dropped by half in week 2 to 110,000 viewers, and hit a series-low 81,000 viewers in week 3. The 8-episode miniseries concluded to a 0.01 rating with 177,000 viewers after falling sub-100,000 viewers the previous two episodes.

The Writer's Room (Sundance TV): Ratings Recap

Sundance's 'The Writer's Room' premiered July 29, 2013; however, no ratings are available for the 6-episode first season because Sundance Channel was not rated at this time. A second season premiered April 18, 2014 to a zero 18-49 rating with 44,000 viewers. It hit a high of a 0.03 rating with 98,000 viewers and a low of 11,000 viewers with a zero rating. The series concluded to a 0.02 rating with 75,000 viewers and wasn't renewed for a third season.

The Red Road (Sundance TV): Ratings Recap

Sundance's 'The Red Road' premiered February 27, 2014 to a 0.05 adults 18-49 rating with 342,000 viewers. It ticked down to a 0.02 rating with 96,000 viewers by its first season finale, but was renewed for a second season. The second season premiered in 2015 to a 0.04 rating with 191,00 viewers, hit a season-high of 204,000, and concluded to 183,000 viewers. The series aired a total of 12 episodes over the course of 2 seasons and wasn't renewed for a third season.

Justified (FX): Ratings Recap

FX's 'Justified' premiered March 16, 2010 to a 1.5 adults 18-49 rating with 4.16 million viewers, which remained the series high mark for the show. It lost almost half by week three, to 0.9 with 2.31 million viewers, and stabilized at that level for the next four seasons, averaging between 2.3 million and 2.6 million viewers and between a 0.8 and 0.9 rating between seasons 1 and 5. A sixth season premiered in 2015 to a 0.6 rating with 2.17 million viewers, hit a series-low 1.65 million viewers, and ultimately concluded with a 0.65 rating and 2.24 million viewers. The series aired a total of 78 episodes over six seasons.

Web Therapy (Showtime): Ratings Recap

Showtime's 'Web Therapy' premiered July 19, 2011 to a 0.02 adults 18-49 rating with 45,000 viewers, rose in weeks 2 and 3 to 0.04/88,000 and 0.05/110,000, but concluded its inaugural season with similar numbers to the premiere: 0.02/51,000. The second season premiered in 2012 and was easily the highest-rated season. The premiere brought in a 0.06 rating with 103,000 viewers, and the season's penultimate episode holds the series-high in both 18-49 (0.08 rating) and total viewers (196,000). The third season premiered in 2013 and brought in similar numbers to the first season, beginning at a 0.02 rating with 45,000 viewers, and concluding to a 0.01 rating with 57,000 viewers. The fourth and final season premiered in 2014 and held the series' two lowest 18-49 marks: notching a mere 0.001 twice. The series concluded in January 2015 to 23,000 viewers and wasn't renewed for a fifth season.

Longmire (A&E): Ratings Recap

A&E's 'Longmire' premiered June 3, 2012 to a 0.8 adults 18-49 rating with 4.15 million viewers. Its first season hit a low of 0.5 with 3.27 million viewers, but it finished with a 0.8 rating and over 4.3 million viewers, averaging 4.02 million viewers over 10 episodes. A second season premiered in 2013 to a 0.9 rating with 4.31 million viewers, hit a series-high 4.42 million viewers for its finale, and averaged 3.7 million viewers over 13 episodes. A third season premiered in 2014 with only a 0.69 rating and 3.86 million viewers, and never reached over 4 million viewers. The season concluded with a 0.6 rating and 3.68 million viewers, averaging 3.52 million over 10 episodes. All subsequent seasons of this series aired on Netflix, so there is no ratings information available. Season 4 aired in 2015, season 5 aired in 2016, and season 6 aired in 2017. It was not renewed for a seventh season.

Tyrant (FX): Ratings Recap

FX's 'Tyrant' premiered June 24, 2014 to a 0.61 adults 18-49 rating with 2.1 million viewers, and concluded to a 0.53 rating with 1.52 million viewers, averaging a 0.5 rating and 1.55 million viewers in its 10-episode inaugural season. A third and final season premiered in 2016 to a 0.27 rating with 1.04 million viewers, and stabilized in the 700,000s: concluding to 719,000 viewers and averaging 784,000. It was not renewed for a fourth season.

The Bridge (FX): Ratings Recap

FX's 'The Bridge' premiered July 10, 2013 to a 0.9 adults 18-49 rating with over 3 million viewers. It dropped by almost half in week 2, to 0.5 with 1.74 million viewers, and remained relatively stable for the rest of the season, concluding to a 0.5 rating with 1.43 million viewers, and averaging a 0.6 rating with 1.77 million viewers over its first 13 episodes. A second season premiered in 2014 to a 0.5 rating with 1.5 million viewers. It dipped below 1 million viewers midway through the season, but managed 1.03 million viewers for its series finale. The second season averaged a 0.36 rating with 1.11 million viewers, and the series was not renewed for a third season.
