Signed, Sealed, Delivered (Hallmark): Ratings Recap

Hallmark Channel premiered 'Signed, Sealed, Delivered' as a television movie on Oct. 12, 2013 where it scored a fairly solid 0.20 adults 18-49 rating and 1.72 million viewers. Following this success, it was green-lit as a television series which premiered April 20, 2014 to 1.7 million viewers - on par with the movie. The series as a whole remained fairly stable, falling as only low as 1.26 million viewers and averaging 1.5 million over its 10 episodes. After the season concluded, Hallmark made an interesting decision and rather than renewing it for an additional season, they instead commissioned a number of TV movies. The first aired November 23, 2014 to just 755,000 viewers, but those numbered climbed to over 1 million by the sixth movie in July 2016 and back up to nearly 1.5 million by the 11th movie in 2018. It was reported that a 12th movie was going to air in 2020, but due to the impacts of COVID-19 it has been delayed indefinitely.

Music ratings are divided into two weekly posts: one for albums, and one for individual songs; this is the song post. Songs achieve their positions on the weekly Billboard & Rolling Stone lists based on three major metrics: sales, streaming, and airplay. Below are three charts: the top 25 songs of the week based on total U.S. sales, the top 25 based on total U.S. streaming and the top 40 songs of the week based on U.S. pop radio airplay. An additional radio chart is also included with the top 50 songs of the week according to Mediabase which uses different methodology than Nielsen who compiles the regular chart.

Weekly Nielsen Ratings: 1996-97 TV Season

Below are the full weekly ratings results for the entire 1996-97 television season. There are four different sets of data posted below and there is a chart at the bottom of the post to help make clear what types of data are available in each of the season's 53 weeks. The first document includes clippings from the USA Today which have HH rating/share and viewership to 1-decimal place for every show of the week. This data was previously posted over at the TVAholics blog; however, the links are dead, so I've decided to post them here so they are at least available somewhere on the internet. USA Today clippings were not available for the weeks ending Dec. 22, 1996 updated with hand-typed chart, Mar. 9, 1997, or Apr. 13, 1997, so HH ratings are provided from Broadcasting & Cable Magazine.

The second document includes weekly viewership results to 2-decimal places. From w/e Sept. 22, 1996 through w/e Dec. 29, 1996, two-decimal viewership data is only available for the top 20 shows and comes from the archives of UltimateTV.com (note: the documents say "households" but the numbers are actually total viewers/persons 2+). Beginning with the w/e Jan. 5, 1997, two-decimal viewership is available for every broadcast program and comes from the Los Angeles Times. The third document includes the weekly top 50 basic cable ratings from Broadcasting & Cable magazine, but there are a few scattered weeks in which only the top 15 basic cable ratings were available. The final document includes the weekly top 5 pay cable ratings (essentially just HBO) and they are available for 45/53 weeks. Utilize the "+" icon to zoom in on any pages that are difficult to read.

Weekly Nielsen Ratings: 1986-87 TV Season

Below are the full weekly ratings results for the entire 1986-87 television season. Viewership wasn't reported by Nielsen until the fall 1988 season, so up until that point the only metric widely available was the household rating (which is what is reported here in this article). To calculate the estimated number of households watching, just multiply each rating by 874,000 as that is what 1 rating point represents. The following are clippings from Broadcasting Magazine and The Fort Worth Star-Telegram, which were two of the few publications in the United States to publish full weekly TV ratings results. Note: article clippings that did not include the date for that week's ratings were edited to include the dates.

Album Ratings: Week Ending April 29, 2021

Albums achieve their positions on the weekly Billboard & Rolling Stone lists based on total units sold; a metric which is the sum of of pure album sales (sales of the entire actual album), streaming-equivalent album units (SEA), and track-equivalent album units (TEA). One SEA unit is equal to 1,250 premium (paid) streams, or 3,750 free streams, and one TEA unit is equal to 10 purchased tracks. There are three charts below: the first one has the top 10 albums based on total weekly units sold according to both Billboard and Rolling Stone. The two sites have different sources of data, hence why their numbers are different (but close). A second chart includes the top 10 albums of the week according to Billboard based on pure album sales, and the third chart includes the top 25 albums of the week, according to Alpha Data, with breakdowns of pure albums, SEA units, and TEA units.
