DVR Ratings: Week Ending September 17, 2017

Below are the DVR ratings for the week ending September 17, 2017. There are three charts below: the first includes Live+3 day time-shifted data for all programs that aired on the broadcast networks, and the second includes Live+7 time-shifted data for available broadcast programs, and the third includes Live+7 time-shifted data for programs that aired on cable networks. There are columns for both 18-49 increase and for total viewership increase and while many programs will have data provided for both metrics, some programs will only have data for one or the other depending on what was available.

The Strain (FX): Ratings Recap

FX's 'The Strain' premiered in 2014 to a 1.18 adults 18-49 rating with almost 3 million viewers. It lost around 900,000 viewers over the course of its inaugural season, concluding to a 0.07 rating with 2.09 million viewers, and averaging 2.21 million viewers. A second season premiered in 2015 and averaged a 0.59 rating with 1.34 million viewers, and a third season premiered in 2016 and averaged a 0.42 rating with 961,000 viewers. A fourth and final season premiered in 2017 and averaged a 0.37 rating with 985,000 viewers, with 995,000 viewers tuning in for the show's final episode.

Blood Drive (Syfy): Ratings Recap

Syfy's 'Blood Drive' premiered in June 2017 to a 0.24 adults 18-49 rating and 834,000 viewers. It dropped in week 2 to a 0.18 & 627,000 viewers and fell further in week 3 to a 0.13 & 444,000 viewers. The series concluded with a 0.11 rating & 364,000 viewers and the season averaged a 0.13 & 457,000 viewers. It aired a total of 13 episodes over the course of a single season and wasn't renewed for a second season.

Twin Peaks: The Return (Showtime): Ratings Recap

Showtime's 'Twin Peaks: The Return' premiered May 21, 2017 with a double episode, averaging a 0.15 in adults 18-49 and 506,000 viewers. Save for the second week (195,000), the series stayed above 200,000 viewers for the remainder of its 18 episode run, ultimately concluding to a 0.09 rating with 240,000 viewers. It averaged a 0.10 rating and 287,000 viewers, but has yet to be renewed for another season.

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia (FX/FXX): Ratings Recap

UPDATED 2020: 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia' premiered August 4, 2005 on FX to 1.42 million viewers. It fell to 840,000 viewers in its second episode and averaged 1.14 million viewers over its 7-episode first season. The second season premiered in 2006 to 1.6 million viewers, averaging 1.24 million viewers over 10 episodes, and the third season premiered in 2007, averaging 1.28 million viewers over 15 episodes. Viewership growth continued in seasons four and five (in 2008 and 2009), averaging 1.32 million and 1.79 million viewers respectively; however, ticked down to 1.5 million in its sixth season (2010). Between 2011 and 2013, the series lost two-thirds of its audience, going from 1.61 million viewers in its seventh season, to 1.07 million in its eighth, and finally to 531,000 in its ninth. The reason for the decline between seasons eight and nine can be attributed to it being moved from FX to FXX. Since its first season on FX, it has actually seen moderate growth, rising to 538,000 in 2015, 540,000 in 2016, and 601,000 in 2017. This trend stopped in the 13th season (2018) which averaged only 366,000 viewers, and was even lower in the 14th season (2019) at 299,000. Nevertheless, it was renewed for a 15th season.

Feud (FX): Ratings Recap

UPDATED 2020: FX's 'Feud' premiered March 5, 2017 to a 0.52 adults 18-49 rating with 2.26 million viewers, but fell by almost half in week 2, to a 0.3 rating with 1.32 million viewers. It held above 1 million viewers each episode of its first season, and concluded to a 0.3 rating with 1.3 million viewers. The first season averaged a 0.34 rating and 1.36 million viewers. It was renewed for a second season though it is not in production as of 2020.
