Cable Network Ratings: 10/9 - 10/15/2017

Recap of the top basic cable networks in primetime for the week ending October 15, 2017.

Coverage of MLB Baseball pushed TBS and Fox Sports 1 to the top of the basic cable networks for the week ending Oct. 15. TBS took victory with 3.315 million viewers on average in primetime, and FS1 was close behind averaging 2.923 million viewers for the week. That pushed ESPN to third-ranked with 2.722 million viewers over the course of 7 days. Other channels that averaged over 1 million viewers this week were: Fox News (2.170 million), MSNBC (1.565M), USA Network (1.322M), HGTV (1.177M), Discovery (1.040M), and History (1.001M). 

Among AMC's assets, AMC ranked #20 on the week with 646,000 total viewers. It was followed by: WEtv (#40, 368,000), SundanceTV (#49, 261,000), BBC America (#56, 200,000), and IFC (#60, 160,000). All 5 channels rose from their rankings last week.  

Among Viacom's assets, TV Land led the week at #23 with 622,000 viewers. It was followed by: BET (#31, 483,000), VH1 (#34, 454,000), Spike (#37, 388,000), Comedy Central (#41, 355,000), MTV (#42, 354,000), CMT (#54, 230,000), MTV2 (#76, 97,000), Logo (#91, 61,000), and MTV Classic (#105, 9,000). Among Nickelodeon channels, Nick-at-Night led the week, ranked #21 with 645,000 viewers, followed by Nick Jr. (#26, 574,000), Nicktoons (#53, 236,000), and TeenNick (#67, 144,000). Looking at the full day, Nickelodeon averaged 1.007 million viewers.

Other channels of note include: FX (803,000), FXX (273,000), Freeform (673,000), Syfy (530,000), OWN (464,000), WGN America (354,000), GSN (343,000), Velocity (227,000), Disney XD (162,000), Reelz (153,000), Smithsonian (94,000), Fuse (64,000), El Rey (63,000), Ovation (62,000), and Chiller (23,000). The lowest-rated channel on the week was Comedy.TV which averaged 3,000 viewers.
