TV Ratings: Tuesday June 2, 2020

NBC's 'America's Got Talent' had no real competition on Tuesday night, easily leading the night in both the 18-49 demo (1.31 rating) and total viewers (8.75 million). 'Talent' also had the night locked down in adults 25-54 (1.9 rating) averaging 8-tenths above of its closest broadcast competition and almost a full point above its closet cable competition. Also on NBC was 'World of Dance' (0.84, 4.25 million) which lost a sizable 5-tenths in the demo from it's 'Talent' lead-in and more than half of its viewers.

On ABC, 'America in Pain' (0.52, 2.84 million) led into a new episode of 'Genetic Detective' (0.38, 2.87 million) though both were fractional. 'Pain' a tenth ahead in both 18-34 (0.3 vs. 0.2) and 25-54 (0.8 vs. 0.7). 'Detective's' only advantage was in people over 50 where it was 1 share point ahead of 'Pain' (5 share vs. 4 share).

'Stargirl' (0.19, 959,000) and 'Legends of Tomorrow' (0.17, 725,000) both continue to deflate the hopes of CW network executives.

CNN again took the top 4 spots on cable in 18-49 and the top 3 in 25-54 with 10pm's 'CNN Tonight' (0.73/0.97, 2.83 million) atop the list, followed by 'Anderson Cooper 360' (0.69/0.96, 3.13 million), 'Cuomo Primetime' (0.66/0.91, 2.93 million), and 11pm's 'CNN Tonight' (0.59/0.81, 2.21 million).

Fox News's primetime line-up ranked fourth through sixth in 25-54, but were top 3 in total viewers. The best airing for the net came from 'Tucker Carlson Tonight' (0.89 in 25-54, 5.04 million), followed by 'The Ingraham Angle' (0.86, 4.59 million), and 'Hannity' (0.85, 4.97 million). MSNBC had its usual success with 'The Rachel Maddow Show' (0.62, 3.77 million) and 'Last Word with Lawrence O'Donnell' (0.46, 2.84 million). 'Chris Hayes' was at 0.42/2.49 million.

Elsewhere, Bravo's 'Vanderpump Rules' (0.40 in 18-49, 1.07 million) was cable's highest-rated non-news program, and saw solid returns in Bravo's key W18-49 demo (0.56 rating). Over at MTV, 'Teen Mom' (0.34, 692,000) delivered cable's second-best numbers in F12-34 (0.41 rating), just a hundredth below CNN's top 2 programs (which tied for first at 0.42).

For reasons that are not quite clear (and aren't likely to become apparent), USA Network decided to air the second season premiere of 'Dirty John' this past Sunday where it found a 0.13 18-49 rating and 546,000 viewers. Last night, they re-aired the season premiere (0.26, 1.09 million) which doubled its numbers from Sunday. A second episode was at 0.20 in the demo with 886,000 viewers. These numbers are a far cry from last year's season finale which scored series-best numbers in the demo (0.59) and total viewers (1.84 million).
