TV Ratings: Sunday June 21, 2020

ABC's 9pm interview with John Bolton led the broadcast ratings among adults 18-49 (0.73 rating) and ranked second behind CBS's '60 Minutes' (0.58, 7.1 million) in total viewers (6.22 million). Leading into the Bolton interview was a 'John Legend and Family' Father's Day special which had modest numbers (0.42, 3.26 million) though it was much better than the '60 Minutes' lead-out 'A Grammy Tribute to Unsung Heroes' (0.23, 2.77 million). The only other original on the night was NBC's 'Hollywood Game Night' (0.24, 1.59 million).

On the cable side, Paramount's 'Yellowstone' looks like its on its way to become the next big hit series on cable. The third season premiere of brought in series-highs in both the key 18-49 demo (0.89 rating) and among total viewers (4.23 million), up hugely from last year's premiere (0.45/2.41 million) and finale (0.59/2.81 million). The show also led the day among men 18-49 (0.94), males 12-34 (0.39), and adults 25-54 (1.24). The premiere was also simulcast on both CMT (0.08/257,000) and Pop (0.05/261,000).

Things were less rosy on AMC for the season premiere of 'NOS4A2' which took a tough fall from last year's numbers. Sunday's second season premiere brought in a 0.12 18-49 rating and 417,000 viewers, down significantly from last year's premiere (0.29/1.108 million) and finale (0.16/676,000). The simulcast on BBC America brought in an additional 0.02 in the demo and 84,000 viewers.

The other key premiere on the night was Showtime's 'The Chi' which bowed its third season to a 0.11 demo score and 348,000 viewers. This was down very slightly from last season's premiere (0.13/454,000) and finale (0.16/474,000), and tied a series-low in the demo. Lead-out 'Penny Dreadful: City of Angels' remained low at 0.04 with 380,000.

On TLC, '90 Day Fiance: Happy Ever After' (0.84, 2.9 million) saw the day's best numbers among women 18-49 (1.1), adults 18-34 (0.56), and females 12-34 (0.66). Lead-out 'Smothered' (0.37, 1.52 million) logged 0.49/0.28/0.30 in those demos and '90 Day Pillow Talk' (0.35, 1.4 million) had 0.49/0.20/0.21.

HBO had the premiere of miniseries 'Perry Mason' which was low in the demo (0.09) but had respectable viewership numbers (884,000). 'Last Week Tonight', interestingly, was much better in the demo (0.19) but had slightly fewer viewers (857,000).
