FOX's 'WWE Friday Night Smackdown' led the Friday broadcast ratings in both adults 18-34 (0.3 rating) and 18-49 (0.51) with 2.07 million viewers; in rounded 18-49s, it tied a rerun of ABC's '20/20' (0.49, 3.05 million). Also on ABC was a 'Juneteenth' special which was at 0.45 in the demo and 3.28 million viewers; all three of these programs tied in 25-54s (0.7). Finally, the CW had 'Masters of Illusion' (0.14, 698,000).
On the cable side, Fox News's 'Tucker Carlson Tonight' led the day among adults 18-49 (0.32 rating), 25-54 (0.49), and total viewers (3.49 million). On that same net was 'Hannity' (0.26/0.43, 3.12 million) and 'The Ingraham Angle' (0.23/0.41, 2.73 million). MSNBC had 'The Rachel Maddow Show' (0.19/0.31, 2.87 million) and 'Last Word with Lawrence O'Donnell' (0.13/0.21, 1.84 million).
Over on CNN the schedule was a bit wacky. There was the usual hour-long 'Anderson Cooper 360' at 8pm (0.23/0.34, 1.63 million), and 'CNN Tonight' at 10pm (0.25/0.34, 1.49 million), but from 9-10pm there was an additional hour of 'Anderson Cooper 360' split into 2 half-hour segs: 9-9:30pm (0.21/0.30, 1.57 million) and 9:30-10pm (0.22/0.31, 1.46 million).
Food Network's 'Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives' (0.30 in 18-49, 1.14 million viewers) was the top-rated non-news telecast on cable and led the day in women 18-49 (0.32) and adults 18-34 (0.23).
On VH1, 'RuPaul All Stars' (0.22, 507,000) was solid among W18-49 (0.23) & A18-34 (0.22) as was lead-out 'Untucked All Stars' (0.16, 362,000) which was at 0.16 and 0.17 respectively. Other strong performances in the W18-49 demo came from TLC's '90 Day Fiance' special (0.21, 1.14 million) and WEtv's 'Mama June: From Not to Hot' (0.21, 958,000) which logged 0.29 and 0.32 ratings.
Coverage of the Premiere League game between Manchester and Tottenham (0.22, 533,000), on NBC Sports Net, brought in the day's second-best men 18-49 rating (0.35), just a hundredth behind 'Tucker Carlson' (0.36). Discovery's 'Bering Sea Gold' (0.19, 1.24 million) also did well in that demo (0.24).
