U.S. Primetime Broadcast TV Ratings: 10/23 - 10/29/2017

Below are the broadcast TV ratings for the week ending October 29, 2017. The first chart includes ratings based on adults 18-34, adults 18-49 (most to two-decimal places), adults 25-54, and total viewers (presented in millions) while the second chart presents sub-demographic ratings (divided by gender) for adults 18-34 and adults 18-49. A third chart is also provided which includes persons-using-television (PUT) 18-49 data for each day of the week (except Saturdays). Note: most reruns are excluded from the chart below.

On Monday, NBC led the day in the 18-49 demo (1.8/7), but ABC took victory in total viewers (9.56 million). CBS's 'The Big Bang Theory' (2.8/10, 13.2M) led the night, but that was the lone bright spot for the network: '9JKL' (1.4/5, 7.17M) lost almost half of its lead-in, and 'Scorpion' (0.8/3, 5.15M) had the lowest demo for the net. ABC's 'The Good Doctor' (1.8/7, 10.39M) gained 0.5 from its 'Dancing with the Stars' (1.3/5, 9.15M) lead-in, but NBC's 'The Brave' (1.0/4, 5.19M) lost 1.2 from its 'The Voice' (2.2/8, 10.1M) lead-in.

On Tuesday, FOX's coverage of the World Series led all of broadcast with a 3.9/15 18-49 rating/share, and 14.97 million viewers. On the scripted side, NBC won in the demo (1.9/7), but CBS won in total viewers (11.17M). NBC was led by 'This Is Us' (2.8/9, 10.6M) and 'The Voice' (1.9/7, 9.66M), while CBS was led by 'NCIS' (1.4/5, 13.3M) and 'Bull' (1.2/4, 10.7M). ABC's Tuesday comedy block notched its highest number with 'The Middle' (1.3/5, 5.8M), and its lowest with 'The Mayor' (0.8/3, 2.95M).

On Wednesday, FOX's coverage of the World Series led all of broadcast with a 4.2/17 18-49 rating and 15.48 million total viewers. Aside from sports, CBS and ABC tied in the demo (1.2/5), and CBS led in total viewers (7.02M). CBS's top airing on the night was 'Survivor' (1.7/7, 8.22M), while ABC's top airing belonged to 'Modern Family' (1.7/6, 5.96M). 'Dynasty', on the CW, (0.2/1, 718,000) lost more than half of its 'Riverdale' lead-in (0.6/2, 1.62M)

On Thursday, CBS's 'Thursday Night Football' led all of broadcast with a 3.1/13 18-49 rating and 10.68 million viewers. NBC and ABC tied in the demo (1.3/5), but NBC narrowly edged out the victory in total viewers (5.39M vs. 5.37M). NBC's tonight was aided by the robust 'Will & Grace' (1.8/7, 6.79M), while ABC's success was largely due to the presence of 'Grey's Anatomy' (1.8/7, 7.69M). On FOX, 'The Orville' (1.2/5, 4.18M) stayed impressive as it grew 0.3 from its 'Gotham' (0.9/3, 2.87M) lead-in.

On Friday, FOX's coverage of the World Series led all of broadcast with a 3.9/16 18-49 rating and 15.68 million viewers. Among scripted originals, CBS took victory in both the demo (1.0/4) and total viewers (6.8M). Aside from the game, a Halloween Special on CBS performed well with a 1.1/4 18-49 rating/share and 5.67 million viewers. The season premiere on 'Blindspot' did about as well as could be expected, averaging a 0.7/3 and 4.13 million viewers.
