French Ratings: 10/2 - 10/8/2017

Ratings highlights for the week of October 2, 2017 - October 8, 2017 in France.

The top show of the night belonged to TF1, with 2 airings of 'Camping Paradis' which were seen by 4.48 million and 4.2 million viewers respectively (~17% share). On France 2, 'Rizzoli & Isles' had 3.87 million (15%), and on France 3, 'Thalassa' brought in 1.86M. 'L’amour est dans le pré' had 4.18 million and 3.7 million viewers for its 2 episodes on M6 (16.5% & 18.9%), and 'American Pickers' brought in 142,000 on CSTAR. 

France 3's original series 'Capitaine Marleau' dominated the French ratings on Tuesday, bringing in 6.838 million total viewers - a 29% share of the country. TF1 aired 3 episodes of 'Conviction' which found 2.83 million, 2.36 million, and 2.06 million viewers respectively - ranging between 9% and 12%audience share. France 2 aired a newsmagazine which did a respectable 2.29 million viewers (10%). On M6, the series 'Quadras' aired 2 episodes which were seen by 1.89 million and 1.64 million viewers, an audience share of 7.8% and 8.5% respectively. Also airing Tuesday was CSTAR's 'DC's Legends of Tomorrow' (170,000), and 6ter's 'Hawaii Five-0' (332,000). Both had less than 2% share.

A new episode of 'Criminal Minds,' on TF1, led the day Wednesday with over 5.08 million viewers and a 21% share. A rerun of a different 'Minds' episode had 3.14 million. France 2's 'Alex Hugo' was second on the day with over 3.45 million viewers (15%). Rounding out the top networks was France 5's 'Les enfants de Daech' (1.03M), and M6's 'Mon invention vast de l'or' (2.46M). Other shows of note include 'The Tomorrow People' (CSTAR) which found 360,000, and 'Call the Midwife' (23) which had 122,000.

It was a big night again on TF1 with both 'Profilages' and 'Vertiges'. The former had 5.297 million viewers (22% share), and the latter scored 4.24 million for its season finale (23%). M6 had the next-highest listing of the night with an airing of the film 'Kingman: Secret Service' which did 3.75 million. On Arte, 'Fatale-station' had 457,000, on France 4, 'Cold Case' had 771,000, and on NT1 'Secret Story' notched 595,000. Some films airing Thursday include: 'Sex and the City' (191,000), 'Limitless' (510,000), and 'Men in Black' (525,000) - they aired on Chérie25, NRJ12, and HD1 respectively.

For the third day in a row, TF1 won the night; 'Koh Lanta' notched 5.08 million total viewers - an almost 24% share. 'Les petits meurtres d’Agatha Christie', on France 2, was second on the night with 3.82 million (16%), and 'NCIS: Special Investigations', on M6, was third, with 3.08 million (13%). Other series airing Friday include TMC's 'The Mentalist' (490,000), NRJ12's 'Diane, femme flic' (242,000), and HD1's 'Clem' (278,000). 'Super Nanny' (NT1) found 487,000 viewers.

A soccer match between France and Bulgaria aired on TF1 Saturday, and was seen by an audience exceeding 7.34 million viewers (almost 33% of audience share), easily beating everything else on air. On France 2, 'Don't Forget the Lyrics' had 2.78 million viewers (14%), on France 3, 'Commissaire Magellan' did 3.8 million (17%), and on M6, 'Kitchen Nightmares' had 1.47 million. Other shows of note include W9' 'The Simpsons' (459,000), and HD1's 'Dr. House' (222,000). 

Movies ruled on French television Sunday. TF1 aired 'American Sniper' for the first time, and easily won the night with over 5.196 million viewers (23%) for that broadcast. France 2 aired '12 Years a Slave' and notched 2.94 million. Some series that aired Sunday include France 3's 'Murdoch Investigations' (3.41M) and CSTAR's 'Lucifer' (293,000). Other Sunday movies were 'The Blade Runner' which did 1.96 million on Arte, 'Fantastic Four' which did 453,000 on 6ter, and 'Populaire' which did 447,000 on France 4.

For the week, TF1 led all networks with 20.3% audience share. It was followed by France 2 (13.1%), M6 (10.1%), France 3 (9.8%), France 5 (3.7%). Other networks include: TMC (3.4%), C8 (3.0%), W9 (3.5%), Arte (2.3%) and Canal+ (1.3%).
