Album Ratings: Week Ending February 4, 2021

Albums achieve their positions on the weekly Billboard & Rolling Stone lists based on total units sold; a metric which is the sum of of pure album sales (sales of the entire actual album), streaming-equivalent album units (SEA), and track-equivalent album units (TEA). One SEA unit is equal to 1,250 premium (paid) streams, or 3,750 free streams, and one TEA unit is equal to 10 purchased tracks. There are two charts below: the first one has the top 10 albums based on total weekly units sold according to both Billboard and Rolling Stone. The two sites have different sources of data, hence why their numbers are different (but close). The second chart includes the top 20 albums of the week, according to Alpha Data, with breakdowns of pure albums, SEA units, and TEA units.

Morgan Wallen's 'Dangerous: The Double Album' spent a fourth week atop both the Billboard 200 & Rolling Stone 200, logging just under 150,000 album-equivalent units in the tracking week ending February 4. In second, Lil Durk's 'The Voice' saw a nice week-to-week rise, more than doubling its numbers from last week (32K) with 86,000 units. Taylor Swift's 'Evermore' tumbled to 7th this week, from 3rd last week (and down ~5,000 units) which pushed Ariana Grande's 'positions' down to 9th though the two weren't far apart in total units (29,500 vs. 28,000). Finishing out the Billboard Top 10 was 'Good News' from Megan Thee Stallion (26,000) which rose from 12th last week. Rolling Stone had 'Good News' in the 14th spot with Harry Styles's 'Fine Line' in 10th (25,900).
