Albums achieve their positions on the weekly Billboard & Rolling Stone lists based on total units sold; a metric which is the sum of of pure album sales (sales of the entire actual album), streaming-equivalent album units (SEA), and track-equivalent album units (TEA). One SEA unit is equal to 1,250 premium (paid) streams, or 3,750 free streams, and one TEA unit is equal to 10 purchased tracks. There are three charts below: the first one has the top 10 albums based on total weekly units sold according to both Billboard and Rolling Stone. The two sites have different sources of data, hence why their numbers are different (but close). A second chart includes the top 10 albums of the week according to Billboard based on pure album sales, and the third chart includes the top 25 albums of the week, according to Alpha Data, with breakdowns of pure albums, SEA units, and TEA units.
Morgan Wallen again took the top spot in the weekly album sales chart selling 150,000 units in the tracking week ending February 11; that sum includes 37,000 pure album sales. The Weeknd's 'The Highlights' album dropped this week and landed in the second spot with 89,000 units and 6,000 of them in pure sales. 'Highlights' edged out 'After Hours' in pure sales, and due to some interesting Billboard rules, songs that appear on both albums only count towards the album with higher pure sales, hence 'After Hours' tumbled out of the top 10 this week. The Foo Fighters debuted 'Medicine at Midnight' in the third position with 70,000 units, but easily topped the pure sales chart with 64,000. Ariana Grande's 'Positions' ticked up to 7th this week with 32,000 units (vs. 28K) while Taylor Swift's 'Evermore' dipped out of the top 10, ranking 11th with 28,800. Of note outside the Billboard top 10 was SZA's 'Good News' (26,900), Doja Cat's 'Hot Pink' (20,800), Harry Styles's 'Fine Line' (20,700), and Taylor Swift's 'Folklore' (19,900).
