Music ratings are divided into two weekly posts: one for albums, and one for individual songs; this is the song post. Songs achieve their positions on the weekly Billboard & Rolling Stone lists based on three major metrics: sales, streaming, and airplay. Below are three charts: the top 25 songs of the week based on total U.S. sales, the top 25 based on total U.S. streaming and the top 40 songs of the week based on U.S. pop radio airplay.
In its first week, Olivia Rodrigo's megahit 'drivers license' topped the weekly song sales chart with nearly 38,000 in total sales, almost triple the number of second-ranked 'Lonely' (Justin Bieber) which was at about 14.5 thousand sales. The song also cleaned up in the streaming numbers with over 67 million streams in the week; quadruple the number of second-ranked 'Wasted on You' (Morgan Wallen) which scored nearly 17 million & was top 5 in total sales with 10,022. Outside the top 25 was Ariana Grande's '34+35' (1,870 sales/10.59 million streams), Cardi B's 'WAP' (1,826/8.18 million), and Bad Bunny's 'DAKITI' (1,476/10.36 million). Note: this list only includes songs that had over $40.3K revenue for the week; a song with less than $40.3K in revenue could theoretically have more sales than the 25th ranked song on this list and it would not appear here.

Unsurprisingly, Rodrigo's 'drivers license' also topped the weekly U.S. streaming chart with an astounding 67.1 million streams in its first week of release. This gargantuan number completely dwarfed second-ranked 'Good Days' by SZA which rose to 18 million streams this week, versus 14.1 million last week. As we covered in the album post, Morgan Wallen's new album 'Dangerous: The Double Album' easily ranked atop both the Billboard & Rolling Stone top 200 and it was largely due to a monster week in streaming. Wallen placed 9 songs in the weekly top 25 with 'Wasted on You' (16.9 million) and 'Somebody's Problem' (14.1 million) leading the way. Below the top 25 was Wallen's 'Neon Eyes' (8.413m), Taylor Swift's 'Willow' (8.403m), Billie Eilish's 'Therefore I Am' (7.92m), and Tate McRae's 'You Broke Me First' (6.825m). Note: this list only includes songs that had over $40.3K revenue for the week; a song with less than $40.3K in revenue could theoretically have more streams than the 25th ranked song on this list and it would not appear here.

Ariana Grande's 'positions' topped the pop radio chart for a fifth consecutive week, but its 17,556 U.S. plays were actually ever-so-slightly down from last week (17,634) signaling that the song may have reached its peak. 24KGolden's 'Mood' retained the second spot, down 152 plays week-to-week, and Justin Bieber's 'Holy' remained in third, down only 55 plays. Despite not making the top 20, Olivia Rodrigo's 'drivers license' impressively still managed 1,948 plays (ranked 31) and reached an audience of 6.147 million even though it wasn't supposed to make its radio debut until Jan. 18. Ariana Grande's '34+35' saw the second most week-to-week growth, up 1731 plays (to 10,435), and Justin Bieber's 'Anyone' was third, up 1355 plays (to 4,838). Outside the top 20 was Miley Cyrus's 'Prisoner' (3,911/9.565m), Shawn Mendes & Justin Bieber's 'Monster' (2,163/5.368m), and Bad Bunny's 'DAKITI' (1,878/4.658m).
