TV Ratings: Friday August 21, 2020

FOX's 'Friday Night Smackdown,' one of the only originals airing on the broadcast nets Friday night, delivered the top numbers among adults 18-49 (0.6/4), adults 18-34 (0.4/4), and adults 25-54 (0.7/4). A rerun of CBS's 'Blue Bloods' led among total viewers (3.9 million), delivering nearly 2 million more than 'Smackdown' (2.198 million). Over at the CW, two episodes of 'Being Reuben' at 9pm & 9:30pm remained tiny in both the demo (61,000 18-49 & 62,000 18-49) and total viewers (226,000 & 219,000). 

It was the usual story for the spanish-language nets with 'Como Tu No Hay' (709,000 18-49, 1.718 million total) leading the way for Univision, 'Que Culpa Tiene Fatamagul' (177,000 18-49, 431,000 total) winning for Unimas, and 'Cennet' (389,000 18-49, 1.213 million) atop Telemundo.

Unsurprisingly, TNT coverage of the 'NBA Playoffs' led the cable ratings with Clippers/Mavericks topping in adults 18-49 (0.93), men of that demo (1.31), adults 18-34 (0.74), and males 12-34 (0.85). Its 2.3 million viewers ranked it above everything non-news related. Also on TNT, Celtics/Sixers scored 0.97/0.71 in those respective male demos (1.8 million), and Nuggets/Jazz was at 0.63/0.45 (1.05 million). 

At NBCSN, the top-rated 'NHL Playoffs' game was Flyers/Canadiens which was at 0.30 in M18-49, 0.20 in M12-34, and logged 698,000 viewers. The other game, Blues/Canucks, was at 0.25/0.15 in those respective demos with 463,000 viewers.

Top performers among women 18-49 came from Clippers/Mavericks (0.56), Celtics/Sixers (0.44), WEtv's 'Love After Lockup' (0.35), and TLC's '90 Day Fiance' program (0.32).

Fox News's 'Tucker Carlson' led cable in people over 50 (2.88 rating) and total viewers (3.7 million). 

On the scripted side, Disney Channel was new with 'Sydney to the Max' (364,000) & 'Ruth & Ruby Virtual Sleep' (388,000) while HBO was new with 'Room 104' (228,000).
