Coverage of the '2018 Winter Olympics' propelled NBC to an easy and dominant victory in the week ending Feb. 18, 2018. NBC averaged a 4.3 rating/17 share in the key 18-49 demographic with 17.62 million viewers for the week. CBS ranked second on the week in both metrics (0.7/3, 4.48 million), ABC was third (0.7/3, 3.21 million), FOX fourth (0.4/2, 1.65 million), and CW sixth (0.3/1, 927,000). Interestingly, though Ion only aired one original series this week, 'Private Eyes' (0.25/1, 1.29 million), the network as a whole (0.3/1, 1.3 million) averaged higher ratings than CW.
The top draw of the week was NBC's Tuesday coverage of the Winter Olympics which saw a massive 5.21/20 rating/share and 20.5 million viewers. Saturday's coverage (3.46/14, 14.52 million) saw the lowest ratings of the week for the network, though still quite solid. Among scripted series, the CW aired only 'Legends of Tomorrow' (0.48/2, 1.5 million), 'Black Lightning' (0.55/2, 1.81 million), and the season finale of 'Crazy Ex-Girlfriend' (0.18/1, 602,000). Finally, ABC's Monday episode of 'The Bachelor' (1.54/5, 5.94 million) actually performed very well against the Olympics.
