Cable Network Ratings: 1/1 - 1/7/2018

Recap of top basic cable networks in primetime for the week ending January 7, 2018. 

ESPN again took the top spot on the week, averaging 4.908 million viewers in primetime. Outside of cable news, HGTV took the fourth spot on the week (1.480 million), and USA Network took fifth (1.333 million). 


Other networks averaging over 1 million viewers include: Discovery (1.315 million), Investigation Discovery (1.207 million), History (1.186 million), TNT (1.083 million), TBS (1.065 million), A&E (1.014 million), and FX (1.003 million). 

Among cable news networks, FOX News ranked second on the week (2.020 million), MSNBC was in third (1.597 million), CNN was 16th (823,000), CNBC was 42nd (400,000), HLN was 50th (308,000), and FOX Business was 86th (93,000).
