Cable Network Ratings: 12/25 - 12/31/2017

Recap of top basic cable networks in primetime for the week ending December 31, 2017. 

Thanks to a plethora of College Bowl games this week, ESPN obliterated all competition this week, averaging 6.439 million viewers in primetime. Among ad-support cable networks airing scripted programming this week, Hallmark Channel took the second spot (2.208 million viewers), USA Network took fourth (1.481 million), TNT was in fifth (1.342 million), TBS was in seventh (1.150 million), and Freeform took 11th (1.018 million).


Other networks averaging over 1 million viewers include sixth-ranked HGTV (1.201 million), eight-ranked Investigation Discovery (1.132 million), tenth-ranked History (1.026 million), and 12th-ranked Discovery (1.009 million). 

Among cable news networks, FOX News ranked third on the week (1.589 million), MSNBC was in ninth (1.049 million), CNN was 18th (732,000), CNBC was 46th (375,000), HLN was 49th (324,000), and FOX Business was 88th (73,000).
