Cable Network Ratings: 12/18 - 12/24/2017

Recap of top basic cable networks in primetime for the week ending December 24, 2017. 

ESPN topped the week among ad-supported cable networks, averaging 2.997 million viewers in primetime. Among networks airing scripted content, Hallmark Channel (ranked third) led the week with 2.223 million viewers, followed by USA Network's 1.47 million (#5), TNT's 1.351 million (#6), TBS's 1.325 million (#7), and Freeform's 1.307 million (#8). 


Also averaging over 1 million viewers this week was History, ranked ninth, with an average of 1.286 million viewers. It was just ahead of tenth-ranked HGTV (1.207 million), and eleventh-ranked Discovery (1.179 million). Rounding out the high-viewed networks, Hallmark Movies & Mysteries (1.163 million) took the 12th spot, while Investigation Discovery (1.056 million) took 13th.

Among cable news networks, FOX News ranked second overall on the week with 2.703 million viewers, and MSNBC ranked fourth with 2.071 million viewers. Averaging below 1 million viewers were CNN (#19, 795,000), CNBC (#38, 372,000), HLN (#52, 260,000), and FOX Business (#72, 121,000).
