Ratings highlights for the week of October 2, 2017 - October 8, 2017 in the UK.
'EastEnders' was the top show on BBC1 on Monday, Thursday and Friday. The show had 6.70 million, 6.48 million, and 6.47 million viewers respectively. Although it wasn't the highest rated show on Tuesday, it still did relatively well, notching 6.57M. Tuesday's highest rated show; however, was 'Doctor Foster' which had 9.78 million viewers (#2 on the week for the network). On Wednesday, 'The Apprentice' had 6.49 million. 'Strictly Come Dancing' and 'Strictly Come Dancing: The Results' were the highest airings on both Saturday and Sunday respectively. The show itself scored the highest numbers for the week on BBC1, with 11.15 million viewers tuning in to watch. The Results show on Sunday was slightly lower at 9.64M.
A plethora of listings made the list for BBC2 this week. On Monday, 'University Challenge' had the top airing of the day with 2.62 million viewers, and on Tuesday, 'Saving Lives at Sea' led the day with 1.76 million. On Wednesday 'The Detectives: Murder on the Streets' (1.91M) beat out 'The Apprentice: You're Fired' (1.76M). 'Russia Today with Simon Reeve' had the top airing on Thursday (2.81M), while 'Gardeners's World' had the top airing on Friday (2.09M). Saturday's top show was 'Dad's Army' (1.29M), while Sunday's top airing, 'Louis Theroux: Dark States', was also the top airing of the week for the network, with 3.11 million. 'Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two' aired Monday through Friday on the network, and did: 1.63M, 1.68M, 1.59M, 1.57M, and 1.40M respectively. The U.S. drama series 'Snowfall' had 1.21 million on Sunday.
Two episodes of 'Coronation Street' led Monday (7.84M & 8.07M), Wednesday (7.62M & 7.02M), and Friday (7.69M & 7.42M), while airings of 'Emmerdale' led on Tuesday (6.49M) and Thursday (6.92M). 'Emmerdale' also aired on Monday (6.57M), Wednesday (6.8M), and Friday (6.91M). 'Liar' was ranked #3 on Monday, but also #3 for the week, so its 7.71 million viewers are worthy of inclusion on this list. 'The X Factor' led on both Saturday and Sunday, bringing in 5.75M and 6.83M respectively. 'Victoria,' which aired Sunday, had 5.9 million viewers.
Monday's top rated show, 'The Undateables' was at #7 for the week, with 1.76 million viewers; 'First Dates' was just behind it with 1.72M. 'The Great British Bake Off', which aired Tuesday dominated the entire week on the network, with 8.04 million viewers - more than 3X as high as the second highest rated show the week, Friday's 'Gogglebox' which did 2.75M. On Wednesday, 'Location Location Location' had 1.87 million viewers, and on Thursday, 'The Supervet' barely beat it out with 1.88 million. The 'Formula 1: Japanese Grand Prix Qualiying Highlights' led the day on Saturday (1.12M), while the highlights of the race itself led on Sunday (2.14M).
On Monday, both 'Paddington Station 24/7' and 'Police Interceptors' were on top (ranking #2 and #3 for the week), averaging 1.62 million and 1.49 million viewers respectively. Tuesday's 'The Yorkshire Vet' was ranked #1 for the week, with its 1.72 million viewers; 'Alaska: A Year in the Wild' had 1.29M. On Wednesday, 'Can't Pay? We'll Take it Away!' had 1.35 million viewers, and on Thursday, the top listing was 'Nightmare Tenants Slum Landlords' which had 944,000 viewers. 'Britain by Bike' was the top airing on Friday (1.08M), and the film 'The Equalizer' won on Sunday (1.09M). The top airing on Saturday was quite far below 1 million viewers so it's not included.
Monday's 'The Vietnam War' had 574,000 viewers at 8pm, and 550,000 viewers at 11pm. On Wednesday, 'Britain's Lost Masterpieces' had 460,000 viewers, and on Thursday, 'British History's Biggest Fibs with Lucy' did 522,000. Two airings of 'Black Lake' on Saturday brought in 607,000 viewers and 586,000 viewers respectively (#1 and #2 on the week). Sunday's 'The Sky at Night' had 462,000.

On Sunday, E!'s 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' special did 186,000, while 'Total Bellas' had 60,000. On Fox, 'The Gifted' had 603,000 on Sunday, 'American Horror Story: Cult' had 286,000 on Friday, and 'Lucifer' did 142,000 on Thursday. 'Celebrity Justice' (ITV2) had 984,000 on Thursday. On ITVBe, 'Real Housewives of Chesire' had 527,000 on Monday, 'Real Housewives of New York' did 241,000 on Sunday, and 'The Only Way is Essex' did 825,000 and 785,000 on Sunday & Wednesday respectively. 'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' (Lifetime) had 80,000 on Tuesday, while 'Dance Moms' did 104,000 on Monday, and 'Project Runway' did 84,000 on Thursday. On Sky1, 'Stella' had 603,000 on Wednesday, 'Modern Family' had 972,000 on Friday, and 'The Last Ship' did 336,000 on Sunday. On Sky2, 'The Blacklist' had 33,000 on Wednesday, and 'Strike Back' did 28,000 on Sunday. On Sky Living, 'Chicago Fire' had 354,000 on Tuesday, 'Law & Order True Crime: The Menendez Murders' had 229,000, and 'How to Get Away with Murder' had 184,000, both on Thursday. On More4, 'Outlander' had 517,000 viewers on Thursday. Finally, 'Hollyoaks' (E4) aired Monday - Friday and did: 916K, 793K, 859K, 841K, and 772K respectively.
